Episode 8 recap: Meng Ming Wei intervened in Li Yi Jin's life in Shanghai.
In the laboratory, Tao Shu Na saw the succulent she had given to Zhang Xiao Yan and immediately asked her senior brother about the situation. Tao Shu Na learned that Zhang Xiao Yan cherished the succulent and felt very happy. She immediately messaged Zhang Xiao Yan, telling him to wait for her. After waiting for a while, Tao Shu Na saw Zhang Xiao Yan rushing back, thinking that he had seen the message and hurried back. She was delighted for a while.
Zhang Xiao Yan explained that he hadn't seen the message, so Tao Shu Na told him about the gathering and inquired about the succulent. After Tao Shu Na left, Li Yi Jin also hurriedly left to discuss matters regarding Meng Ming Wei with Tao Shu Na. They discussed for a long time and realized that their personalities were completely different from each other and from Meng Ming Wei and Meng Wan Qing. They couldn't understand what was going on.
Liao Zhe went to the laboratory to find Tao Shu Na and told her about Zhang Xiao Yan's news. Tao Shu Na heard that Liao Zhe added Zhang Xiao Yan's ex-girlfriend on WeChat and immediately borrowed Liao Zhe's phone to check her friend's circle. She discovered that Zhang Xiao Yan's ex-girlfriend was getting married, which made her nervous.

Meng Ming Wei took the wrong bus, so Li Yi Jin had to go find her first instead of attending the dinner. As a result, Cui Bao Hui canceled the dinner, which upset the others.
Li Chengzhi brought a bag of rice to Qiao Hai Yun to show his concern, but Qiao Hai Yun kept nagging him about stock trading, which made Li Chengzhi unhappy, and he went home soon after.
Meng Ming Wei complained of backache, and Li Yi Jin called Li Chengzhi to ask him to send some pain relief patches. However, Li Chengzhi claimed he didn't understand and refused to do anything, so Li Yi Jin had to ask for Meng Wan Qing's help.
Li Yi Jin felt torn between caring for the always busy Meng Ming Wei and being unable to tolerate Meng Ming Wei's control over her life, which caused her a lot of inner conflict.
