Episode 9 recap: Yicheng forced Jian Moran and Huo Jinyan to separate.
Jian Morran held the marriage contract drafted by Ji Jie and approached Huo Jinyan to discuss the renewal, but Huo Jinyan refused to renew. Huo Jinyan's intention was to become a real couple with Ji Jie, but Jian Moran misunderstood Huo Jinyan's refusal as him wanting to treat her as a servant. In order to prevent Huo Jinyan from succeeding, Jian Moran deliberately broke her beloved watch, causing it to fall to the ground when Huo Jinyan was around. Unexpectedly, Huo Jinyan saw through her plan.
Ji Jie called Jian Moran and happily informed her that the warehouse issue had been resolved. A company had proactively approached them, offering a low rent. In fact, it was arranged by Keer according to Huo Jinyan's plan, but Ji Jie was unaware of this. After the warehouse issue was resolved, Jian Moran was in a good mood. Jian Moran went to meet Yicheng. Yicheng held a fake marriage agreement and revealed that Huo Jinyan was not Jian Moran's fiancé. Yicheng urged Jian Moran to break up with Huo Jinyan immediately. Worried that the news would bring harm to Huo Jinyan from her family, Jian Moran agreed to Yicheng's demand. After Huo Jinyan left, the power in Jian Moran's house suddenly went out. As she looked at the fluorescence emitted by the noctilucent watch, Jian Moran overcame her fear of the dark. She walked outside and sat alone at the doorstep, feeling sad, when Huo Jinyan suddenly appeared in front of her.
