Episode 3 recap: Ding Zhaozhao discovered clues in the broken temple.

Ding Zhaozhao showed the contract she had signed with Chu Bufan to her good friend Wen Sixing. Wen Sixing mocked Ding Zhaozhao, saying that she used to despise working with thieves, so why did she decide to collaborate now? Ding Zhaozhao openly admitted to her friend that she initially used Chu Bufan for her own benefit and planned to capture him later, killing two birds with one stone. Wen Sixing thought Ding Zhaozhao's mind was becoming sharper and instructed her not to let anyone else know about her collaboration with Chu Bufan.

Chu Bufan ridiculed Ding Zhaozhao, finding it amusing that a thief like himself was being asked to help solve a case. Ding Zhaozhao found Zhao Ling'an's death suspicious. Chu Bufan's hint made Ding Zhaozhao believe that there must be something suspicious about the facade of that building. As Ding Zhaozhao explained her thoughts, Chu Bufan suddenly became angry and demanded that she return his wooden pendant before leaving.

Ding Zhaozhao knew that Chu Bufan attached great importance to the wooden pendant, but she couldn't understand why. What was so special about it? To avoid being tracked by potential suspects, Chu Bufan pretended to insert a hairpin into Ding Zhaozhao's hair at a stall, which made Ding Zhaozhao feel a bit obsessed with the person before her. Chu Bufan speculated that Zhao Ling'an's death occurred in a temple.

Ding Zhaozhao discovered a scent of peach blossoms in the incense, and sure enough, she found a hairpin under a peach tree. The two of them confirmed the location of Zhao Ling'an's death. Ding Zhaozhao found the coachman suspicious, so she went to the mansion to inquire about the situation. However, as soon as the coachman saw her, he fled, leading Ding Zhaozhao to believe that there must be a hidden secret.
