Episode 12 recap: Shen Qi and Chi Ye spent their last seven days together.
In a daze, Shen Qi saw Uncle Wang becoming terrifying, and she couldn't accept such an ending. She stumbled away, and Chi Ye asked Aman Po what the cost would be this time. Aman Po bluntly stated that originally, all Shen Qi had to do was to forge a silver bell into a small knife to remove the nail from Chi Ye's chest and break the contract, at the cost of one person's life. But now, they both needed to die together.
Chi Ye pondered Aman Po's words and felt immense sadness. Now, both his and Shen Qi's lives were only left with seven days. Shen Qi went back and frantically searched through ancient books, hoping to find a solution. Chi Ye couldn't bear to see Shen Qi tormented mentally and advised her to calm down. He held her tightly, but Shen Qi couldn't calm down. She pushed Chi Ye away, who was in intense pain, and said they were both sinners of Silver Bell Island.
Seeing Shen Qi blaming herself like that, Chi Ye took out the ring that Aman Po had given him and told Shen Qi that as long as they removed the nail from his chest, they could share the pain together, and the disaster would be resolved. Shen Qi was willing to save Silver Bell Island at the cost of her remaining seven days of life, especially since being with her beloved Chi Ye for seven days or seven years made no difference.
Enduring the heartache, Chi Ye took out the ring, and they both put them on. At night, Chi Ye sat by the bonfire shirtless, and Shen Qi held his hand for support as she removed the nail from his chest under Aman Po's guidance. When Chi Ye woke up, he found himself and Shen Qi sleeping together in the same bed, tightly embracing her even in their dreams.
Shen Qi felt Chi Ye waking up and asked if she could hug him to share the pain. Chi Ye could endure it, and so could Shen Qi. They held each other tightly, finally no longer needing to keep their distance. Snow fell on Silver Bell Island, and Shen Qi accompanied Chi Ye to watch the snow. They shared a blanket and enjoyed this rare moment of being together. Shen Qi initiated a kiss with Chi Ye, and he felt that they could take it further. They entered the room, living a normal married life.
On this day, Chi Ye prepared breakfast for Shen Qi. While they were eating together, Chi Ye noticed white hair appearing on Shen Qi's head and sighed at the passage of time. Shen Qi saw white hair on Chi Ye's head too and suggested taking a photo together since their looks would age, but in the photo, they would remain forever young. They made a plan to go home and take a photo, cherishing the precious memories captured in the picture.
On the ferry, Ruo Fei looked at the gift prepared by Qi Yang, a slightly childish rainbow box. She was deeply moved, and in the end, she returned to Silver Bell Island. Qi Yang thought he was seeing an illusion, but when he confirmed that it was truly Ruo Fei, he was overjoyed. Qi Yang had been trying to find a way to help Shen Qi and Chi Ye, but their situation couldn't be solved by medical books and herbs. Qi Yang felt helpless, holding Ruo Fei and crying.
Shen Qi and Chi Ye grew older and now had white hair. Shen Qi looked at Chi Ye in this state and remembered every moment of their meeting and getting to know each other. They leaned against each other quietly, walking towards their final moment. (End of the drama)
