Episode 2 recap: Shen Qi's confession was rejected, and he planned to leave.
On Silver Bell Island, Shen Qi saw Chi Ye, whose face was partially covered, and had a familiar feeling. She wanted to remove Chi Ye's mask and see his sadness, but Chi Ye refused her approach, saying that she mistook him for someone else. Shen Qi felt a pang of pain when she saw Chi Ye crying inexplicably. She asked him why he was crying, and Chi Ye said that he was blinded by the sandstorm. Shen Qi pretended that she and Chi Ye had never met before and reintroduced herself as Shen Qi. However, Chi Ye didn't want to know her and bluntly stated that he would leave as soon as the new island owner arrived. Upon hearing this, Shen Qi took the initiative to recommend herself to Chi Ye, saying that she could be like an assistant on the island and he could seek her advice on many things.
Chi Ye rejected her again, citing that he already had an assistant. Shen Qi then asked if Chi Ye was familiar with the kitchen stove and wild vegetables, and invited him to have a meal with her, offering to teach him everything. However, Chi Ye still refused, claiming that he didn't have time. In order to have some interaction with Chi Ye, Shen Qi deliberately blocked the water wheel with a stone and asked Qi Yang to bring Chi Ye, using the excuse that it was a life-threatening situation. Upon seeing the situation, Chi Ye immediately questioned whether it was a matter of life and death. Qi Yang quickly betrayed Shen Qi and made it clear that he had nothing to do with the situation, then ran away. Shen Qi explained that if the water wheel didn't work, there would be no water, and her flowers and plants would suffer from lack of water, as if her life was at stake. However, as soon as she finished speaking, the stone on the water wheel fell off, making Shen Qi's reasoning untenable. She sincerely apologized and gave a small red flower to Chi Ye, who accepted the flower but ignored Shen Qi and left directly.
Shen Qi went out to deliver the flowers and specifically gave a tulip to Chi Ye as a confession. However, Chi Ye endured the pain in his heart and said that he didn't like tulips. Shen Qi could only return disappointed. She tried to persuade herself that she didn't like Chi Ye, but the discomfort in her heart confirmed that she truly liked him. So, she went for a walk by the lake alone at night and saw beautiful fireflies, which lifted her mood. Little did she know that Chi Ye had always known about this habit of hers and was watching her not far away.
Shen Qi's confession was rejected, and she decided to leave Silver Bell Island. Before leaving, she asked Qi Yang to help her deliver flowers to Chi Ye. When Qi Yang found Chi Ye, he was reading a book. Upon learning that Shen Qi had sent flowers, Chi Ye thought they were for him and instinctively rejected them. However, he didn't expect that Shen Qi's flowers were actually meant for everyone on the island. Qi Yang sensed Chi Ye's concern and left the flowers behind while informing him about Shen Qi's departure. Unable to sit still any longer, Chi Ye immediately got up and went to chase after Shen Qi.
Shen Qi was preparing to board the ship when she saw a thief stealing a female passenger's bag. She immediately shouted to alert everyone and went after the thief. The thief, seeing Shen Qi chasing him relentlessly, pulled out a small knife intending to harm her. Fortunately, Chi Ye arrived just in time to protect Shen Qi. Chi Ye realized that every time Shen Qi approached him, it caused him pain, and he immediately thought of the punishment mentioned by Amanpo. He lifted his clothes and indeed saw a bloodstain on his chest.
