Episode 13 recap: Xue Dong Feng and Ji Lian Yun live together.
When Ji Lian Yun mentioned Fang Fei, Xue Zhi Hai realized that she knew a lot and warned her not to investigate further, or she would end up like Ping'er. Ji Lian Yun was certain that Ping'er's death was connected to Xue Zhi Hai and felt immense sorrow, but she pretended to remain calm and reminded Xue Zhi Hai that Jiangcheng was under Xue Dong Feng's control as the governor.
Once Xue Zhi Hai's scars were exposed, he dropped the gentlemanly act and, upon seeing Xue Dong Feng arrive to take Ji Lian Yun away, immediately ordered his men to show their guns. While Xue Dong Feng took Ji Lian Yun away, she also reminded Xue Zhi Hai to send the painting to the Xue residence. Seeing that Ji Lian Yun's identity had been exposed, Xue Dong Feng insisted on her staying with him for twenty-four hours for safety. However, Ji Lian Yun refused and requested to retrieve her belongings from her room. It put Anan, the servant, in a difficult position as one person needed to leave while the other stayed. In the end, Xue Dong Feng resorted to force and handcuffed Ji Lian Yun to himself, and she no longer opposed.
When Old Lady Xue saw that Xue Dong Feng and Ji Lian Yun were living together, she couldn't help but become furious and scolded Xue Dong Feng harshly.
