Episode 13 recap: Gu Jia Hui saved Yu Jing in time.
Li Xiaolian pointed at Yu Jing and called her a jinx, telling her to quickly go back to the city as she was not welcome here. Yu Jing asked if they thought spreading rumors could drive her away or make her have a child, thinking they were too delusional. She told them that since she had already made up her mind, she wouldn't leave.
Gu Jia Hui secretly recorded Li Xiaolian intentionally scaring Chen Gui Hua with a trick, but he didn't expect Yu Chun to appear in his line of sight as well. Gu Jia Hui also sought out a fortune teller who warned him to be cautious because when a lone star appears, a great disaster is bound to come.
Chen Gui Hua tied red cloth strips to the trees in her house, praying for divine protection and warding off evil spirits. Yu Chun rushed over in a hurry and told her that Gu Dequan's bedroom was haunted last night, with blood handprints all over it. Chen Gui Hua looked up and Yu Chun suggested that if she couldn't get rid of Yu Jing, there was one person who could.
Li Xiaolian threw Yu Jing's luggage outside and dragged Yu Jing out as well. Li Xiaolian said Yu Jing was nothing but a jinx and told her to quickly return to the city. Yu Jing asked if Chen Gui Hua also thought the same way, and Chen Gui Hua hesitated, recalling what the fortune teller had said, admitting she couldn't make the decision herself.
Yu Chun also chimed in, saying it's better to believe that something exists rather than believing it doesn't, and she mentioned that Yu Jing was infertile and brought bad luck to her family. Yu Jing told them that it was impossible to drive her away or force her to have a child with these baseless rumors. Since she had decided to stay, she wouldn't leave. Li Xiaolian grabbed a broom and prepared to hit Yu Jing, but Gu Jia Hui stopped her.
He showed Chen Gui Hua the video he recorded, and Chen Gui Hua said it was Li Xiaolian trying to sow discord.
