Episode 16 recap: The Gu Jia Hui family left.
Li Xiaolian came to see Gu Jia Hui lying on the ground, and Yu Chun, who was in the corner, told her that Gu Jia Hui had passed away. Li Xiaolian quickly distanced herself and said that all of this was done by Yu Chun. Yu Jing walked in from the door, holding her phone, which had already recorded everything. Li Xiaolian saw Gu Jia Hui getting up from the ground, and she realized that she had been deceived.
Yu Jing told her that she was already suspected of a crime, but Li Xiaolian was still trying to evade responsibility. Yu Jing asked her to turn herself in, and they would help plead her case. Gu Jia Hui asked Yu Jing if they should tell Chen Gui Hua about Yu Chun's actions, but Yu Jing thought it would be better not to, as she didn't want Chen Gui Hua to be heartbroken.
When Chen Gui Hua saw Yu Chun return, she asked what to do since Gu Jia Hui hadn't come back yet. Yu Chun pointed behind her, and Chen Gui Hua saw that Gu Jia Hui had returned. She quickly went up to him and started asking questions. Yu Jing told her that Gu Jia Hui had just come back and asked him to take a shower first.
Gu Dequan asked Li Xiaolian why she wanted to turn herself in, and Li Xiaolian said that they had caught her in a compromising situation, and even if she didn't turn herself in, they would still report it to the police. Gu Dequan asked her what compromising situation it was, and Li Xiaolian told him that she had kidnapped Gu Jia Hui. Upon hearing this, Gu Dequan immediately beat up Li Xiaolian. Yu Jing and the others downstairs heard it, and she felt that it was unacceptable for a man to hit a woman in this day and age.
They were about to go upstairs when Li Xiaolian was pushed out, and she urged Yu Jing and the others to leave quickly.
