Episode 18 recap: Chen Gui Hua learned about Li Xiaolian's secret.
Yu Jing held a photo and told Chen Gui Hua that it was Li Xiaolian's secret. The child in the photo is named Gu Chunsheng, and he is not Gu Dequan's biological son. Chen Gui Hua cried when she saw the photos. She felt that it was a stroke of luck and that evildoers would meet their retribution. Chen Gui Hua said she just wanted Gu Dequan to know that he had done wrong and that he owed her an apology.
When Gu Dequan saw Li Xiaolian return, he asked her if she had gone to the city today. Li Xiaolian took out a bottle of medicine from her bag and said she noticed that Gu Dequan had finished his medicine, so she wanted to buy him another bottle. Gu Dequan asked why she didn't mention it earlier, and Li Xiaolian said she didn't say anything because she saw him sleeping in the morning. After listening, Gu Dequan picked up his cane and told Li Xiaolian to remember better next time.
Yu Chun told Chen Gui Hua that she hadn't told them something yet. Yu Chun took out a photo from her pocket. The photo showed a family of three, and Yu Chun said it was Li Xiaolian's secret. She told them that Gu Chunsheng was not Gu Dequan's biological son. Chen Gui Hua looked at the photo and burst into laughter, saying that it was truly a stroke of luck and that evildoers would meet their retribution.
Chen Gui Hua said she must let everyone know about it, but Yu Jing stopped her. She told Chen Gui Hua not to do this because although Gu Dequan was despicable, it would be too cruel to do that to him. She felt that Gu Dequan had already been punished enough, especially considering that he had cancer and had been raising someone else's child.
Yu Jing believed that they couldn't use this matter to crush him anymore. Chen Gui Hua told her that she couldn't let it go. Chen Gui Hua felt that Gu Dequan had deceived and physically hurt her in the past, and she was determined to make him realize his mistakes and apologize to her. Yu Jing assured her that she would help her vent her anger, and Yu Chun also agreed.
