Episode 19 recap: Lu Shuangshuang rejected Xiao Rufeng.
The second prince happened to encounter Mo Chengqian outside when he went to see the emperor. Mo Chengqian sarcastically remarked that he was surprised to be alive and back, and it seemed that the second prince had let him go. The second prince responded defiantly, and the situation became tense for a while. Xiao Rufeng was pleased that Lu Shuangshuang had washed her hands of him, and Lu Shuangshuang was grateful to Xiao Rufeng for his gift.
Xiao Rufeng indicated that he was more interested in the promise Lu Shuangshuang made to him before he left, rather than the gift. Lu Shuangshuang stated that she had developed feelings for Mo Chengqian. Xiao Rufeng was clearly disappointed upon hearing this answer, as he couldn't understand why Lu Shuangshuang had changed her mind so quickly. Lu Shuangshuang explained to Xiao Rufeng that she had misunderstood her admiration for General Chengqian's talent as love, which is why she had been entangled with Xiao Rufeng all this time and wanted him to forgive her.
Xiao Rufeng was heartbroken but still unwilling to give up. Lu Shuangshuang believed that no matter what, she would protect herself, and she praised the second prince for being a truly caring man. Mo Chengqian felt jealous, but Lu Shuangshuang reassured him that she didn't like Xiao Rufeng, even though he was a caring man. Mo Chengqian insisted that Lu Shuangshuang should confess her feelings for him, and Lu Shuangshuang felt that Mo Chengqian was deliberately asking a question he already knew the answer to, showing his scheming nature.
Mo Chengqian gave Lu Shuangshuang the choice between truth or dare, and she chose dare. Wei Shuyuan was heartbroken by the harsh words Mo Chengqian said to her and couldn't understand what she lacked compared to Lu Shuangshuang. She wanted to seek revenge against Lu Shuangshuang.
