Episode 23 recap: Mu Yuan Qi and Mo Bing resolve their misunderstanding.
Ru Fei told Mu Yuan Qi that she had made up her mind about the Crimson Flame Heart, and Mu Yuan Qi said that if that's the case, she should kill him first. Ru Fei asked him not to think that he wasn't reluctant, and just as she was speaking, Yun Zhao arrived and told Ru Fei that the real Crimson Flame Heart was not in Mo Bing's body, and Mu Yuan Qi was the one who could cure her Spirit Link Poison.
With no more restraints, Mo Bing prepared to attack Ru Fei. Knowing that she was no match for Mo Bing, Ru Fei activated a mechanism at her side, causing Mo Bing to fall down. Mu Yuan Qi struggled to get up from the ground and called out for Mo Bing. Ru Fei told him that she had already set up the mechanism long ago to protect him.
Ru Fei said she would rather have Mu Yuan Qi hate her and do this. When she drank the poisoned wine before, it was because she knew the Dog Emperor too well. No matter what she did, she would die, so she chose to spare Mu Yuan Qi's life. Ru Fei felt that Mu Yuan Qi was indecisive and unworthy of being her son. She told Mu Yuan Qi that she had made up her mind about the Crimson Flame Heart.
Mu Yuan Qi told her to go ahead and kill him. Ru Fei told him not to think she wouldn't dare. Just then, Da Wu arrived and told them that the real Crimson Flame Heart was in Mu Yuan Qi's body. Da Wu asked Mu Yuan Qi to give him his heart, and he would help him make a choice.
Ru Fei told him not to do it, but Mu Yuan Qi felt that it was his debt to begin with. He said it as he stabbed himself with a dagger. Ru Fei looked at Mu Yuan Qi and said she could kill anyone, but she couldn't let her son's heart live in this world. Mu Yuan Qi told her that if his heart could save the two women he loved, he would gladly give it up.
Ru Fei refused, and she told Mu Yuan Qi that Mo Bing was in the sea.
