Episode 16 recap: Kanzaki Kaede used both soft and tough methods to win love.
In order to make Nangong Xiu have a good impression of him, Shi Jian Chuan changed his appearance and dressed himself up to look more handsome. Shi Jian Chuan went to Leng Mo Yan to ask for a task, but Leng Mo Yan refused to let him get involved again and instead assigned Mei Shi Qi to accompany him personally.
Shi Jian Chuan questioned Leng Mo Yan if he didn't trust him, and Leng Mo Yan explained that Shi Jian Chuan was too deeply involved in the case and it would be easy to expose him, so Mei Shi Qi was assigned to assist. Kanzaki Kaede was attacked by a masked assailant and seriously injured, so he requested Yu Di to arrange for Mei Shi Qi to come and protect his safety.
Leng Mo Yan disagreed with Kanzaki Kaede's request and insisted on keeping Mei Shi Qi by his side to handle the case. However, because Kanzaki Kaede rarely made requests, Yu Di agreed to his demand. Mei Shi Qi couldn't face Leng Mo Yan because she had bitten him and kissed him before, but deep down, she still felt a little pleased.

The next day, Kanzaki Kaede invited Mei Shi Qi to a restaurant and once again confessed his love to her, offering to give her his family heirloom. Mei Shi Qi knew that Kanzaki Kaede was the best candidate for a son-in-law that she had always wanted before, but now she hesitated and couldn't accept his confession because her heart was still with Leng Mo Yan.
Just as Mei Shi Qi was berating herself for her hesitation, Leng Mo Yan arrived and confiscated Kanzaki Kaede's family heirloom, promising to take care of it and reminding Mei Shi Qi that he was also confessing his admiration for her.
