Episode 6 recap: Unexpectedly, the bathroom incident provided a feast for the eyes.
During the birthday banquet, Emperor Yu was enjoying a dance performance when he was reminded of his beloved concubine, Concubine Chen. Suddenly, a ghostly figure in white descended from the sky. The white-clad ghost claimed to be Concubine Chen and declared that she had been wrongfully killed, urging Emperor Yu to avenge her. The ghost accused Jing Wang of orchestrating her death through the coercion of Chen Bao. However, Jing Wang denied any involvement, prompting Emperor Yu to demand evidence from the ghost.
Doubting the ghost's words, Emperor Yu watched as she left the banquet. Later, she crossed paths with Mei Shi Qi. Mei Shi Qi accidentally bumped into the ghost, catching a whiff of a fragrance emanating from her, unaware if it was poisonous or not. Unable to catch up with the ghost, Mei Shi Qi found a place to change clothes, coincidentally running into Leng Mo Yan in the bathroom.
Leng Mo Yan needed to know the origin of the fragrance and find the person pretending to be the ghost. Thus, he pressured Mei Shi Qi in the bathroom to hand over her clothes, leading to numerous misunderstandings between them. After changing clothes, Mei Shi Qi went to settle the score with Leng Mo Yan, but Zhen Shi San arrived with personnel from the Hidden Guard Bureau, confronting the Inspectorate's people.
Mei Shi Qi intervened in a timely manner, claiming that there had been misunderstandings between her and Leng Mo Yan, which convinced Zhen Shi San's group to leave first. Leng Mo Yan detained Mei Shi Qi, urging her to recount her encounter with the ghost, but she refused to cooperate.
Using Emperor Yu's promised rewards as a lure, Leng Mo Yan finally persuaded Mei Shi Qi to reveal the details. With this information, Leng Mo Yan decided to search for clues in the fragrance on the clothes. When Leng Mo Yan proposed this plan, Mei Shi Qi mocked his familiar actions of sniffing clothing, implying that he had experience with courtesans and suggesting that she was jealous.
Shi Jian sighed, realizing that they only had one set of clothes and it would be difficult to find clues. Mei Shi Qi then tore the clothes in half, stating that they had been touched by someone of low character and were no longer wearable. Leng Mo Yan laughed at Mei Shi Qi's rudeness and deliberately touched her clothes, reminding her that they were now unwearable as well, which greatly angered Mei Shi Qi.
