Episode 8 recap: The princess intentionally made things difficult for Yuejian.
Du Bin took the initiative to apologize to the Crown Prince, acknowledging his own shortcomings in protecting Yuejian. However, no one expected the situation to turn out this way. Du Bin felt that Miss Yin, who was controlled and abducted by the Broken Star Valley, was the reason why the Duke and Duchess of Yin were also being controlled. The Crown Prince instructed Du Bin not to disclose this matter to Yuejian under any circumstances. Du Bin, on the other hand, was discussing Yuejian on the side, suspecting her of having sinister intentions. As a result, he was scolded by the Crown Prince and reminded that the Crown Prince's consort should not casually make comments. However, Du Bin believed that Yuejian, being an assassin, should not be underestimated. But judging from the Crown Prince's attitude, it seemed that he had developed feelings for Yuejian and warned him not to get too deeply involved.
While Yuejian was still asleep, the group leader entered with a dagger, staggering, intending to kill Yuejian. However, Yuejian had already noticed that the dagger in her hand was not sharp, and she grabbed it with one hand. The group leader was surprised that Yuejian could catch the dagger barehanded. Yuejian then asked who she was, and the princess revealed her identity, claiming to be the Crown Prince's childhood sweetheart.
After Yuejian left, the group leader hurriedly followed, claiming that she and Miss Yin from the Yin family had exchanged letters, but their handwriting was completely different. Yuejian felt uneasy and was about to take action against the group leader when suddenly someone rushed out to harm Yuejian. However, the Crown Prince intercepted the attacker. The Crown Prince also accused Silence, who was beside the group leader, and the group leader tried to explain. Yuejian found Silence familiar.
The group leader also mentioned that she noticed that the handwriting of the Crown Prince's consort, who was in front of her, was completely different from that of Miss Yin, with whom she corresponded. Initially, the princess thought the Crown Prince preferred gentle ladies, but the Crown Prince stated that he liked someone strong as an ox, and he ultimately punished Silence with a hundred strokes of a cane. The group leader pleaded for mercy, and the princess was left with no choice but to strike Silence in front of the Crown Prince so that he would not be punished any further.
The Crown Prince carried Yuejian back, and as Yuejian looked at him, she wondered whether the Crown Prince had developed feelings for her. Silence also told the princess that he felt the Crown Prince's consort was not ordinary, but the princess was not afraid. However, she warned Silence to ensure nothing goes wrong. The group leader accused him of giving her a fake dagger and requested him to make a dagger with gemstones for her.
Yuejian's wound started to reopen, and the Crown Prince helped her change the dressing. Yuejian was curious as to why the Crown Prince claimed to enjoy deceiving people.
