Episode 9 recap: Yuejian was cruelly beaten by her aunt.
The Crown Prince told Yuejian that she could confide in him no matter what troubles she had, but now the most important thing was to heal her wounds. The Crown Prince carefully helped Yuejian change her bandages. The wound was very deep, and when the Crown Prince applied the medicine, he noticed a slight frown. He gently wiped the wound, but Yuejian didn't make a sound even though she was in great pain.
The Crown Prince was very cautious in his actions and told Yuejian to let him know if it hurt. Instantly, Yuejian thought of her aunt. When she was injured before, her aunt had coldly told her to endure the pain. But now, the Crown Prince not only comforted her but even brought her a date to eat. When the Crown Prince saw a strand of hair on Yuejian's body, he leaned in closer, and Yuejian unconsciously clenched her fist.
However, just at that moment, Du Bin came over, and the two quickly separated. While the Crown Prince and Du Bin were on the street, they suddenly heard a vendor selling hairpins. Du Bin kindly reminded the Crown Prince that Yuejian had once wanted to use a hairpin to harm him, but now he was buying one to give to Yuejian. The Crown Prince still bought the one he thought looked the best. Although Yuejian was an assassin whose main objective was to assassinate him, the Crown Prince couldn't help but feel that she wasn't as evil as he had imagined. He had seen her help injured beggars on the streets, and perhaps there was some hidden reason behind why Yuejian became an assassin.
However, during the time the Crown Prince was away, Yuejian fainted and escaped. Du Bin suspected that Yuejian had returned to the Broken Star Valley, but if she went back, the outcome would be uncertain. After Yuejian returned, she was quickly knocked down by her aunt. It turned out that each of them had taken poison to control others and force them to do their bidding. Because Yuejian had failed to complete the assassination, she couldn't obtain the antidote for this month.
Yuejian was still trying to explain to herself why she had not succeeded in her suicide attempt, but her aunt believed that Yuejian had fallen in love with the Crown Prince.
