Episode 1 recap: Lu Shi Yan encountered Shen Zhen by chance.
When Lu Shi Yan woke up from his dream, he was startled and broke out in a cold sweat. Soon, someone from outside the room came in and informed him that the emperor wanted to summon him to the palace. On the other side, Shen Zhen continued to stay in her sister's shop, looking at the things around her. At this moment, her sister came again to guide everyone's work. When she saw her sister, she warmly greeted her. Shen Zhen, however, didn't understand the close relationship between her sister and brother-in-law. She wondered why her sister insisted on running the shop alone. When Shen Ran heard this question, she told her sister that it was because her husband treated her well that she wanted to establish her own career and earn his respect. Seeing her sister's concern for her own affairs, she continued to comfort her, assuring her that she was by her side.
In the evening, when it started raining, Shen Zhen ran to a nearby room and saw the other person busy with their work. She directly took the things away and reminded her elderly father to rest. It turned out that the person in front of her was preparing a lantern to give to her daughter. Seeing everyone so capable, the younger daughter started blaming herself, feeling that she couldn't do anything in the house. At this point, their father started comforting her again and planned to surprise her with a birthday celebration the next day.
Unexpectedly, while they were enjoying themselves, Lu Shi Yan suddenly led other soldiers to surround them. The atmosphere became tense, and Lu Shi Yan even arrested Shen Zhen's father on the spot and took him to the dungeon. For a while, the people around couldn't accept this outcome. Shen Zhen didn't hesitate and ran out, intending to intercept them. However, her path was blocked, and in her heartbroken state, she silently watched the person in front of her and shed tears of sadness. After seeing this, the person suddenly remembered the woman from his dream and collapsed on the ground, unconscious and in pain.
After returning to the house, Shen Zhen became overwhelmed with sadness and recalled the past with her father. She took the key and prepared to find her elder sister, but she was intercepted on the spot. She had no choice but to continue seeking help from her aunt. Lu Shi Yan, upon returning, forced himself to continue investigating the adult case mentioned earlier. He believed that the other person was a thoughtful individual and couldn't have made such a mistake so easily. He instructed the people around him to re-examine the evidence. Unexpectedly, at this moment, his symptoms of heartache resurfaced, and he angrily pounded his chest. The next day, his condition had improved considerably. However, to his surprise, Zhou Yushi, who was at the door, suddenly appeared with an imperial decree, ready to take over the case of the Minister of Personnel. Seeing Shen Wenqi's eager behavior, Lu Shi Yan began to find the whole case increasingly intriguing.
Unexpectedly, Shen Zhen overheard her aunt and others outside discussing their plan to marry her off and take advantage of the chaos. She secretly escaped and, upon meeting Lu Shi Yan again, she hid her mother's belongings. However, her bracelet was still shattered by the other person. When the people nearby prepared to compensate her, Shen Ran, her elder sister, arrived at the scene and was ready to uphold justice for her sister. They quickly left in a carriage. The person standing nearby, upon seeing the sachet on Shen Zhen, suddenly remembered the woman from his dream and collapsed on the ground, unconscious and unable to wake up.
As the elder sister, Shen Ran went back and specially prepared to help her father overcome the difficulties together with her husband. At this moment, she began to comfort and support her sister, urging her to rely on her and even personally preparing a longevity noodle dish for her. Meanwhile, the other person started having the same nightmare again and immediately set off to search for someone.
