Episode 7 recap: Zhou, the Imperial Censor, assisted Shen Ran.

At this moment, Shen Ran was stunned when she heard her mother-in-law mention the woman in front of them being pregnant. She couldn't make up her mind and decided to wait for her husband to arrive. Soon, Li Di hurriedly arrived at the scene and became anxious when he saw his mistress beside Shen Ran. The mistress, feeling wronged, directly revealed the truth about her pregnancy. Upon hearing this, Li Di furrowed his brows, and his wife continued to blame him, wanting an explanation. Unexpectedly, the mother-in-law suddenly instructed the mistress to go to the main person and plead for forgiveness. Without hesitation, the mistress knelt in front of Shen Ran.

Later, the mistress began to act pitifully about the child. Shen Ran was so infuriated that she couldn't say anything. However, the mother-in-law quickly revealed that the mistress was Li Di's legitimate wife. This made him angrily leave the scene. After Li Di left, the mother-in-law, still considering her grandson, didn't want the matter to be spread outside. She didn't even pay attention to what her son said. Li Di, standing beside them, became even more agitated after hearing these words.

On the other hand, Shen Zhen continued to stay with the shopkeeper's wife and learned how to be a good concubine. After practicing for a while, she followed the shopkeeper's wife downstairs to find Lu Shi Yan. When Lu Shi Yan came up, she presented herself in a dignified manner, but she still felt uneasy and distant. With the shopkeeper's wife's intervention, the two gradually got closer and even became intimate, with their shoulders touching.

After Shen Ran and her maid entered the room, the maid couldn't understand why Shen Ran wanted to keep the mistress in the mansion. However, to Shen Ran, her husband brought the mistress to the capital and even appeared at the bank. There must be some unspeakable secret. As they were talking, Li Di suddenly came into the room to continue pleading. Seeing him continue to lie, Shen Ran's heart was completely broken, and she decisively left.

When Lu Shi Yan and the people around him arrived at the dilapidated courtyard, they noticed that someone had deliberately erased the footprints. Upon hearing about the medicinal herbs, they started hiding and observing the surroundings. They even saw the uncle they were looking for. After entering the house, the uncle, despite his deteriorating health, informed everyone about the stolen items and their plan to retrieve them.

Meanwhile, Shen Ran received a letter from Imperial Censor Zhou in her room. Following the hints in the letter, she successfully obtained what she wanted from the mistress. Unexpectedly, there was a commotion on Shen Zhen's side. On their way back, they even made a special trip to a jewelry store for extravagant purchases. Back in the mansion, they had to continue eating porridge to alleviate their financial pressure.

After listening to the hints, Shen Ran and her maid went to the bank together, acting in harmony with the outside and inside. They saw the situation in the account books. Just as Shen Ran almost stumbled, she encountered Imperial Censor Zhou. When the shopkeeper locked the door, the maid realized that her mistress was still inside. However, they had no way to help her. At that moment, the people inside read the secret letter and learned about the husband's involvement in framing the father for money. They were filled with grief and despair.

When both of them calmed down, Shen Ran heard the person next to her say that they were prepared to help her father resolve the case with all their might. She was excited and wanted to express her gratitude by offering herself to him. However, Imperial Censor Zhou silently helped her dress and, after seeing the person next to him fall asleep, sat alone beside them, holding the copper coin and recalling the story of how they had once helped each other.
