Episode 10 recap: The Crown Prince poisoned the consort to death.
Ye Shao, due to severe injuries, fell into a deep sleep. When he woke up groggily, he found his uncle sitting by his bedside, treating him. Yuan Ming Yu introduced him as Doctor Cong, who was famous for treating external injuries. After prescribing medicine for Ye Shao, his uncle hastily left and was coincidentally seen by Sun Xiang, who entered the room.
Yuan Ming Yu and Ye Shao were affectionate with each other. When Sun Xiang entered, she intended to avoid them, but Ye Shao called her over and asked her to protect the princess on his behalf during his recovery. Yuan Ming Yu thought Sun Xiang would refuse, but to her surprise, Sun Xiang said she would stay until Ye Shao recovered and then leave.
Upon learning that the consort had awakened in prison, Yuan Ming Yu came to interrogate him. The consort harbored deep hatred towards Yuan Ming Yu and bluntly stated that he didn't intend to harm her secretly but sought revenge. In the past, she forcefully dissolved his engagement with the Third Princess using her identity as a princess, and now she wanted to divorce him using her princess status once again.
Yuan Ming Yu admitted her wrongdoing and told him that if he felt humiliated, he could divorce her. The consort sighed and said it was too late. He considered himself a guilty man with unforgivable sins, so he wouldn't say anything. After Yuan Ming Yu left, the Crown Prince entered. The consort thought he came to rescue him, but the Crown Prince told him that only after he died could the consort find peace.
Saying that, he forcefully fed the consort a pill, poisoning him to death. After taking his uncle's medicine, Ye Shao felt weak and started coughing up blood. He sought out his uncle, who frankly stated that because Ye Shao had forgotten the revenge for his father and mother, and because he had forgotten his own throne and wanted to become a useless person, his uncle would fulfill his wishes. The medicine would first make him weak and then cause him to lose all his martial arts skills.
