Episode 17 recap: An Haiyang and the team continue their investigation.
An Haiyang saw off An Lu Yi and asked him how he was doing living outside. An Lu Yi said he was doing fine and that if he didn't like it, he would move back. An Lu Yi talked to Xu Zilin about their family situation, mentioning that ever since his father passed away, his mother's health and mental state had deteriorated. His mother called them before she died and asked An Haiyang to swear that he would take good care of himself for the rest of his life.
Ju Xue reported that they investigated the car involved in the hit-and-run incident, and it was registered under Wang Fang's name. However, Wang Fang claimed that he didn't make any money from that car and someone likely used his identity to purchase it. The person most likely to be responsible is Zhou Guangquan. They have set up checkpoints on the road to investigate, but haven't found any leads yet. The police arrived and said they found the car, but the person is missing.
An Haiyang and the team looked into a company that has a close relationship with Zhou Guangquan's company. Li Yanyan was filming on the set and her phone was often turned off. They took advantage of this time gap to deceive people using a face-swapped video. They still haven't found the person and discovered that they haven't investigated the water route. The police from the Anti-Fraud Division went to the port and found that a commuter boat had left during low tide and returned during high tide.
