Episode 5 recap: Li Mengjue made a big mistake.
Li Mengjue was momentarily stunned and caught by Xie Jingshu. She quickly pretended to miss her grandfather, so she appeared sad and cried, saying that last night was the anniversary of her grandfather's passing, which is why she felt so upset now. Jing Yan was also puzzled by the situation and didn't know what had happened. Xie Jingshu didn't know how to console Li Mengjue, but he heard her crying and saying that she and her grandfather relied on each other for survival, and she couldn't continue the lie. She even took out a purse, saying it was a gift from her grandfather, and now she could only reminisce about him by looking at it.

Li Mengjue told Xie Jingshu that she borrowed money from Bai Rui and used it to repay her debt.
Jing Yan thought Lu Xier was mute, and Lu Xier no longer had a good impression of Jing Yan. As soon as everyone entered, they saw Bai Rui being killed, and Li Mengjue fainted. Xie Jingshu instructed them to report to the authorities immediately. Lu Xier discovered that Li Mengjue was pretending, and Li Mengjue felt that something was off today, while Lu Xier also found Xie Jingshu to be suspicious.
