Episode 9 recap: Liu Yu'an took the blame for his brother.
Liu Yu'an was restrained by Jing Yan and was unwilling to escape, but he was stopped by Jing Yan. Li Mengjue asked Liu Yu'an when he met Bai Rui, and Liu Yu'an said he saw her at the Liu residence on October 10th. Jing Yan didn't believe this cunning guy, but Liu Yu'an earnestly assured that what he said was true and that his brother could prove it.
Xie Jingshu felt it was not sufficient evidence, but Liu Yu'an was proud, believing that as his brother's favorite younger brother, his words should be enough. Xie Jingshu took Liu Yu'an to find Bai Rui's lover Fang Zhiji. Liu Yu'an reluctantly entered and was pushed in by Jing Yan, wearing a resentful expression. Jing Yan felt that Liu Yu'an, who kept hesitating, didn't seem like a man.
When they entered, they saw something like a formation, and Li Mengjue noticed chicken blood on the ground, similar to what was in Bai Rui's place. Lu Xier sensed someone nearby, and Li Mengjue quickly tied up Fang Zhibo. Fang Zhibo, with a resentful expression towards Bai Rui, was exposed by Li Mengjue. Fang Zhibo wanted Lu Xier to let him go but ended up being knocked out. Just as Lu Xier was about to leave, she was spotted by patrolling people outside. Liu Yu'an was happy that his brother had arrived, but he didn't expect his brother to ignore his life.
Jing Yan learned that Lu Xier was restrained by Liu Chaoming and became very worried. Liu Yu'an voluntarily confessed in an attempt to save his brother's life, but Liu Chaoming was not grateful. Fang Zhibo blamed himself for causing Bai Rui's death and felt deeply remorseful. Li Mengjue heard what Liu Chaoming said and felt that there was a bigger conspiracy behind this incident.
