Episode 11 recap: Wu Geng was injured during a battle against Zi Dian.
Wu Geng reprimanded the scum of the Protoss Hidden Village, and Bai Cai questioned why A Lan would harm Ah Gou. Bai Cai learned from Kong Que that Ah Gou's injuries were not just superficial, but rather severe damage to his vital arteries. She was displeased with how A Lan and the others were training Ah Gou.
Disregarding the extreme cold, Bai Cai collected the nectar of the Frost Heart Lotus in order to treat Ah Gou's injuries. Fu Xi told Wu Geng that there was a type of Black Heart Grass by the river that was effective in healing wounds, and suggested that Wu Geng go and take a look the next day. The following day, Wu Geng went to the riverbank to search for the healing Black Heart Grass, but unexpectedly encountered A Lan bathing there. A Lan noticed someone approaching and inquired, and Wu Geng intended to explain himself, but he accidentally discovered that Zi Dian was also there.
Zi Dian just wanted to see A Lan, and he told her that he had always loved her. Seeing A Lan refuse to speak with him, Zi Dian restrained her and attempted to kiss her. Wu Geng couldn't stand by and watch A Lan being harassed, so he intervened and stopped Zi Dian's actions. Zi Dian became enraged and attacked Wu Geng, even attempting to kill him. Seeing that Wu Geng was no match for Zi Dian and was injured, A Lan, disregarding the depletion of her Protoss powers, used her paralysis-releasing abilities to intervene and stop Zi Dian, finally forcing him to retreat.
A Lan asked the clan leader, Kong Que, to treat Wu Geng's injuries. However, Wu Geng's vital arteries were severely damaged, and it would be difficult for him to recover with only magic and medicine. A Lan concealed the fact that Wu Geng was injured by Zi Dian, and instead explained that he was injured during training.
Wu Geng asked A Lan why she was defending Zi Dian, and A Lan explained that Zi Dian was a good friend of her brother, who was a general of the Protoss clan. Her brother had offended Xin Yue Kui and was falsely accused of treason, leading to Hei Long ordering the execution of their entire family. Zi Dian appeared and rescued her, and they both defected from the Protoss domain.
A Lan believed that Zi Dian also had his own difficulties and advised Wu Geng not to become enemies with him in the future. She would also try to make Zi Dian understand that Wu Geng was not his enemy. After learning about Wu Geng's injuries, Bai Cai came to question A Lan, but A Lan stated that it was Wu Geng's own choice. However, Bai Cai believed that A Lan and the others didn't value Wu Geng's life, as they trained him to confront Hei Long but didn't care about his future or life. They didn't treat all living beings as equals.
Bai Cai felt sorry for Wu Geng's injuries and went to find Fu Xi to seek medicine. Bai Cai went to seek medicine, but Fu Xi, knowing about Wu Geng's injuries, believed that Kong Que's Protoss powers were more effective than his own miraculous medicine, so he assured Bai Cai.
Bai Cai asked Fu Xi for the divination bone to find out where he lived. Upon careful observation of the bone, she realized that it was the object she had seen in her childhood. Bai Cai learned from Fu Xi that the divination bone could not only predict the future but also locate people with special abilities. In order to heal Wu Geng's injuries, Bai Cai prepared a delicious meal to treat Child of the Clouds and asked about the source of the miraculous medicine in the wine. Child of the Clouds told Bai Cai that on the Hao Yu Mountain, there was a spirit flower called the Frost Heart Lotus, which could cure all kinds of illnesses.
Bai Cai coaxed Child of the Clouds to take her to Hao Yu Mountain to see this spirit flower. Bai Cai knew that the Frost Heart Lotus required blood to be picked, so she offered her own blood. Eventually, after waiting in the extremely cold place for three hundred years, the Frost Heart Lotus bloomed.
Bai Cai brought the Scarlet Blood Essence of the Frost Heart Lotus to Wu Geng for him to consume it. However, A Lan arrived and accidentally knocked over the Scarlet Blood Essence. Furious at the loss of the precious essence, Bai Cai succumbed to the effects of her suppressed cold poison and collapsed, coughing up blood. Wu Geng sought Kong Que's help to treat Bai Cai, but they discovered that she had an unknown poison in addition to her cold condition.
Fu Xi examined Bai Cai's body and found that she had been poisoned by Gui Mu's corpse toxin. A Lan explained that Bai Cai had used her own blood to catalyze the Frost Heart Lotus, so the Scarlet Blood Essence she obtained also contained Gui Mu's poison. A Lan had discovered this unexpected phenomenon through the use of her assassination butterfly.
Fu Xi examined Bai Cai's body again and discovered that within her mortal body, there were traces of Protoss elements wandering, but they were sealed and unable to break through, causing the collision with the cold energy in her physical body. Kong Que, the clan leader, also stated that the current herbs and magic of the Protoss Hidden Village were unable to cure Bai Cai. Child of the Clouds mentioned that if they wanted to save Bai Cai's life, they needed to find the Qiong Qi horn in the spirit mountain outside the village.
Qiong Qi is a Protoss beast from the spirit mountain, and its horn can neutralize various poisons. However, Qiong Qi is cunning and easily conceals its whereabouts, and it can only be lured out with the fragrance of the Dragon Whale Orchid. But the Dragon Whale Orchid can only be used in times of crisis within the village and cannot be lent out. Fu Xi, for the safety of Wu Geng, instructed the villagers that the Dragon Whale Orchid should not be shared with outsiders, and severe punishment would be imposed for any violations.
Gui Mu came to see Xin Yue Kui and informed her of his encounter with Fu Xi, Xin Yue Kui's father, in the mortal realm. He also took the opportunity to inquire about the purpose of Xin Yue Kui and Hei Long's search for the crystal stones, but Xin Yue Kui dismissed his involvement in the matter.
Xin Yue Kui warned Gui Mu and sent him away. Fu Xi predicted that a woman was planning to bring Wu Geng to his demise and informed A Lan about it. He also mentioned that in his vision, when the woman attacked Wu Geng, he did not retaliate, suggesting that she might be someone close to Wu Geng.
When Bai Cai woke up, she was still worried that Wu Geng hadn't consumed the Scarlet Blood Essence. To alleviate her concerns, Wu Geng claimed that he had already consumed all of it. Wu Geng assured Bai Cai that her condition was just a relapse of her cold and that she would be fine after treatment. Wu Geng discovered that someone had intentionally given him the Dragon Whale Orchid fragrance. He took the fragrance and went to the spirit mountain to find Qiong Qi. Soon, Qiong Qi was lured by the fragrance, and during the battle between Wu Geng and Qiong Qi, Zi Dian seized the opportunity to use his Protoss powers to paralyze Wu Geng, causing him to be injured by Qiong Qi.
Meanwhile, Bai Cai's condition worsened, and even with Kong Que's utmost efforts, they were unable to save her.
