Episode 17 recap: Wu Geng defeats Shi Xing once again in the Apocalypse.

Wu Geng and Shi Xing engage in their final battle, but despite Wu Geng's current abilities, he is unable to kill Shi Xing. Just as Shi Xing is about to kill Wu Geng, Wu Geng unleashes the power of the colorless realm of the Protoss once again. Due to the Mark of the Deceased, Shi Xing transforms into a beast and starts massacring the people in the city. He even kills Wu Geng's beloved woman, Ming Yue, with his own hands. Before she dies, Ming Yue tells Shi Xing that she doesn't blame him and that she had anticipated this day. Every day and every moment she spent with Shi Xing was happy, but she regrets not being able to witness the beauty of the world together with him.

After understanding the reason behind Shi Xing's madness, Bai Cai believes that only Ming Yue can awaken the light that still exists within Shi Xing's heart. She decides to disguise herself as Ming Yue and awaken the remaining brightness within Shi Xing. Wu Geng instructs A Lan to take Bai Cai to Ming Yue's room, while he himself engages Shi Xing in battle.

Even though Wu Geng has mastered the art of refining Qi, he is still no match for Shi Xing. Shi Xing initially intends to kill Wu Geng personally, but at a critical moment, Zi Yu, who has repaired his Qi sword, arrives to save Wu Geng, allowing him to escape. Although Zi Yu has reached the stage of unity between man and sword in his Qi cultivation, he is still unable to kill Shi Xing after several duels.

Shi Xing deduces that Zi Yu had expended his own Qi to help Wu Geng refine his Qi, which is why he cannot deliver a fatal blow. However, Zi Yu does not regret his actions. As Hei Long's son, Shi Xing is unable to die, not only because he is transformed by Hei Long's Protoss essence but also because Xin Yue Kui has placed an undying curse, the Mark of the Deceased, upon him.

Now that Wu Geng cannot kill him, Shi Xing wants to end Wu Geng's life. Wu Geng is once again on the brink of death, but he unleashes the power of the colorless realm of the Protoss once more and ruthlessly attacks Shi Xing, inflicting severe injuries upon him. Wu Geng states that the Mark of the Deceased has filled Shi Xing with a desire for slaughter and devoid of love, so he fundamentally does not understand the true meaning of life.

Wu Geng does not wish to kill Shi Xing, but he also doesn't want him to become an obstacle. He wants Shi Xing to fall into a deep sleep, never to awaken again.

Bai Cai arrives, wanting to help Shi Xing find complete liberation because she believes that Shi Xing has also been persecuted by the Protoss. Bai Cai appears before Shi Xing dressed in the wedding gown Ming Yue wore years ago, triggering Shi Xing's memories of his acquaintance with Ming Yue.

Back then, Shi Xing saw the Protoss realm as a beautiful yet imprisoning place, where the Protoss lacked intense emotions and did not understand the warmth of the human world. Since encountering his beloved Ming Yue in the mortal realm, he no longer wanted to return to the Protoss realm. He only wished to stay by Ming Yue's side.

Ming Yue lived in darkness due to her blindness, unable to see the beauty of the world. Although she had regrets, she never complained about her fate. However, after meeting Shi Xing, she couldn't help but develop resentment, preventing her from ever seeing the face of her beloved. Shi Xing promised to stand in a place where Ming Yue could reach out and find him, assuring her that he would be there by her side. All their regrets would turn into happiness and beauty.

He would become Ming Yue's eyes, taking her to see the picturesque landscapes and the changing seasons. Ming Yue accepted Shi Xing's marriage proposal, and they agreed to marry on the fifteenth day, three days later. Shi Xing finally remembered that his most beloved woman was Ming Yue, whom he had mistakenly killed with his own hands. Shi Xing mistook Bai Cai for Ming Yue, but he did not expect that his interaction with Bai Cai would unexpectedly remove the Mark of the Deceased from his body.

Upon seeing Bai Cai remove the Mark of the Deceased from Shi Xing, Xin Yue Kui speculated that Bai Cai possessed ancient Protoss power. Gui Mu pays his respects to the Elder of the Protoss and informs him that he has discovered a trace of an ancient crystal that seems to have reincarnated as a mortal woman. Furthermore, this woman is accompanying Wu Geng, the son of Xin Wang, in the mortal realm.

However, since Gui Mu lacks evidence, he is ordered to quickly ascertain the whereabouts of this woman.
