Episode 19 recap: "Against the Heavens" reveals Bai Cai's identity.
"Against the Heavens" informs everyone that although Bai Cai comes from the human realm, she is actually a member of the demon tribe. "Against the Heavens" tells Bai Cai that this is her true home and reveals that the crystals she possesses are a sign of the Protoss resonance, which confirms Bai Cai's status as a member of the demon tribe.
Bai Cai and Wu Geng reunite in the demon realm and embrace each other after a long separation. The demon marshal, "Against the Heavens," saves Bai Cai and she asks about her companions. "Against the Heavens" assures Bai Cai not to worry because they will soon be reunited.
Wu Geng finds A Lan, and they witness how the demon tribe is willing to harm their own kind for a drop of water. Wu Geng believes that the demon tribe is in a worse situation than humans. In a great war in the Protoss domain ten thousand years ago, Hei Long imprisoned the rebellious Protoss forces underground, where they were deprived of sunlight and plagued by disease and cruelty. In their despair, they turned into demons and started killing each other.
Wu Geng learns about the origins of the demon tribe and feels sympathy for them. Wu Geng and A Lan are surrounded by the demon tribe, who initially intended to consume them. However, at that moment, a natural disaster occurs, and countless meteorites rain down on the ground. "Against the Heavens" and Bai Cai also witness this anomaly and realize that the seal of the demon tribe, which has lasted for ten thousand years, has been released, causing excitement among the entire demon tribe.
"Against the Heavens" was once told by his master that only by using the power of the colorless realm can the seal of the demon tribe be broken. Bai Cai realizes that Wu Geng must have broken the seal. While saving a young girl named Xiao Qingting, Wu Geng is touched by her plight due to lack of food and water. He compassionately offers his human food to Xiao Qingting. In gratitude, Xiao Qingting reveals the location of "Against the Heavens" tribe and voluntarily leads Wu Geng there.
"Against the Heavens" introduces Bai Cai to his subordinates, explaining that although she comes from the human realm, she is actually a member of the demon tribe. Bai Cai expresses her doubts, but "Against the Heavens" reassures her that even though she has lived in the human realm for a long time, this is her true home.
When Bai Cai touches the demon tribe crystals, they resonate with her, providing further evidence that she is indeed a member of the demon tribe and possesses the power of the Protoss resonance.
Bai Cai appreciates the kindness of "Against the Heavens" but explains that she already has a family. With the seal of the demon tribe broken, they witness the sunlight and the snow described in ancient books for the first time. Everyone celebrates the change that has come today, and Bai Cai and Wu Geng spot each other in the crowd, rushing towards each other and embracing.
"Against the Heavens" sends his subordinates to invite Wu Geng and Bai Cai to meet him. They arrive at "Against the Heavens'" location, and he expresses gratitude to Wu Geng for bringing a ray of light to the demon tribe. Wu Geng explains that he simply unintentionally broke the seal of the crystal sea and cannot bear the title of the war god of the human realm that "Against the Heavens" mentioned.
Wu Geng inquires about the petrification disease affecting the demon tribe. "Against the Heavens" tells Wu Geng and Bai Cai that for the past ten thousand years, the demon tribe has been suppressed underground, suffering from the agony of petrification disease, and most members of the demon tribe do not live past the age of forty. Hei Long cursed the ancestors of the demon tribe as a punishment for betraying the Protoss, and the petrification disease has been passed down through the generations.
"Against the Heavens" declares that the demon tribe will never compromise. For the past ten thousand years, they have been fighting and desiring to control their own destiny. He understands Wu Geng's purpose and the two agree to decide whether to cooperate within seven days. Wu Geng expresses gratitude to A Lan for protecting him throughout their journey, and A Lan states that she is Wu Geng's master and it is her responsibility to protect him.
Wu Geng informs A Lan that he has made a seven-day agreement with "Against the Heavens" to determine whether he is a trustworthy partner to entrust his life to. "Extremely Vicious and Evil" becomes furious when he learns that his subordinates have lost Xiao Qingting and orders everyone to search for her. However, a subordinate reports that Xiao Qingting has entered "Against the Heavens'" tribe. "Extremely Vicious and Evil" leads his men to the tribe to rescue his daughter.
Upon arriving, "Extremely Vicious and Evil" learns from "Against the Heavens" that Xiao Qingting is in the tribe, brought there by Wu Geng. Worried that his daughter might harm others, "Extremely Vicious and Evil" is relieved when Bai Cai arrives with Xiao Qingting and the latter prevents "Extremely Vicious and Evil" from committing violence.
Xiao Qingting starts feeling unwell, and it is discovered that her petrification disease has begun. Bai Cai, unable to bear it, voluntarily offers to treat Xiao Qingting.
