Episode 2 recap: Hei Long descended to battle against Xin Wang.
The six great deities led their infantry to besiege the city. Wu Geng volunteered to join Xin Wang in resisting the enemy, and the people were moved and joined in one after another. Bai Cai and Ah Gou were scattered in the crowd. The great deity Gui Mu slaughtered many soldiers of Xin, but Xin Wang arrived and severed one of his arms, shocking both the gods and the people.
Gui Mu, enraged, fought against Xin Wang but had his leg cut off. Just as Xin Wang was about to finish Gui Mu, he was struck down by the great deity Tian Kui. Ah Gou received guidance and rushed towards the Star-Picking Tower, eventually collapsing at the foot of the tower. At the same time, Xin Wang and Tian Kui fought fiercely, evenly matched, causing disbelief among the gods that a mere mortal could contend with the Protoss power of Tian Kui. Tai Ji made a move to kill Wu Geng, but Heart's Moon Fox appeared in time to protect him.
Because Heart's Moon Fox used Protoss power, Xin Yue Kui also sensed her whereabouts. Wu Geng asked his mother why she had Protoss power and was puzzled as to why his father, the king, could fight against the Protoss tribe. Xin Yue Hu explained that there was a phoenix soul on Xin Wang's battle armor, and she had been evading the pursuit of the Protoss tribe for many years. She had also kept his identity a secret to protect him.
Hei Long discovered the extraordinary power within Xin Wang and personally came to the Kingdom of Xin. Due to Hei Long's arrival, mortals could not withstand the pressure of his colorless realm Protoss power. Xin Yue Hu used Protoss power to protect Wu Geng. Xin Wang refused to acknowledge that they were slaves as mortals and believed that even without the divine race, the cycle of all things could continue with love as the source of strength.
Xin Wang fought against Hei Long with all his might. There had been a prophecy among the Protoss that a human war god would defeat Hei Long, but Hei Long did not believe in prophecies. He believed that as long as he existed, humans would always be slaves to the Protoss.
Despite possessing the Protoss power of the phoenix, Xin Wang was not overwhelmed by Hei Long's strength. Seeing his father severely injured, Wu Geng exerted all his efforts to break into the colorless realm of the Protoss power to help Xin Wang. In the moment of crisis, Wu Geng's uncle, Zi Yu, arrived to assist. He broke through Hei Long's colorless realm Protoss power through his cultivation and joined forces with Xin Wang to confront Hei Long. Ten Xing intervened and fought against Zi Yu, resulting in a stalemate between the two.
Xin Wang fought fiercely, burning his blood, and succeeded in injuring Hei Long. Enraged, Hei Long tore apart Xin Wang's armor infused with the Protoss power of the phoenix, and struck Xin Wang down to the ground. Despite his grievous wounds, Xin Wang forced himself to stand up and ultimately perished in front of Hei Long.
Seeing Xin Wang's death, Hei Long left with a sense of relief. Zi Yu, distracted by the loss of his older brother, was struck unconscious by Ten Xing, who took him away. Heart's Moon Fox used Protoss power to allow Wu Geng and Xin Wang to bid their final farewell. Xin Wang told his son that it would be Wu Geng who would end the war, and encouraged him to have the courage to confront the Protoss tribe and to live on with strength.
Xin Wang had no regrets about encountering Heart's Moon Fox in this life and pleaded with her to protect their child before parting ways. Meanwhile, the soldiers of the Kingdom of Mie invaded the Kingdom of Xin, ruthlessly slaughtering its people. Zhou Qiao arrived at the Star-Picking Tower, intending to capture Heart's Moon Fox and Wu Geng. However, he was swiftly dealt with by the arrival of Xin Yue Kui. Upon seeing the Protoss envoy, Zhou Qiao submitted obediently. Xin Yue Kui ordered Heart's Moon Fox to return with her to the Protoss tribe to face punishment, and also threatened Heart's Moon Fox with Wu Geng's life, claiming that even though Wu Geng was the child of Heart's Moon Fox and a human, he was also a disgrace to the Protoss tribe.
Seeing Xin Yue Kui about to harm Wu Geng, Heart's Moon Fox, in agony, drew her sword and killed Wu Geng.
