Episode 20 recap: Bai Cai confessed to Wu Geng that she is a member of the demon clan.
Against the Heavens returned the lost pendant to Bai Cai because he remembered that the pendant belonged to Bai Cai's mother. Based solely on the brilliance of the crystal, Against the Heavens determined Bai Cai's identity. Bai Cai shared her secret with Wu Geng, telling him that since she arrived among the demon clan, she felt that this place was her home, the place where she was born, and that she is a member of the demon clan.
Bai Cai helped Little Dragonfly alleviate her pain, and Extremely Vicious and Evil thanked Bai Cai for saving her daughter. As a result, Extremely Vicious and Evil decided to spare Against the Heavens that day. Against the Heavens apologized for forcibly revealing Bai Cai's demon clan identity, stating that he only wanted the demon clan to unite together, which is why he was eager to recognize Bai Cai.

Against the Heavens told Bai Cai that her parents were high-ranking generals under her older brother Vast Sky and Boundless Sea. They had remarkable military achievements and were courageous and strategic. They traveled through the demon realm seeking medical advice and helped the people overcome illness. When her older brother fell victim to the Protoss' eyes, the demon realm fell into chaos, and Bai Cai's parents, feeling disheartened, took Bai Cai, who possessed Protoss power, to the human world, hoping that their daughter would live a happy life. However, they did not expect to encounter the pursuit of the Protoss.
Upon learning about her true origins, Bai Cai yearned for her parents and cried uncontrollably. Wu Geng and A Lan inquired about the Dawn Flower from an elderly person in the marketplace and learned that the flower came from the Protoss domain and could cure petrification. Bai Cai helped the people in the marketplace alleviate their petrification symptoms, and those affected by petrification came to her for treatment. Wu Geng saw Bai Cai's selfless dedication to healing others and advised her to take care of her own health. He also hoped that Bai Cai wouldn't sacrifice her own well-being to treat others.
Against the Heavens also arrived to persuade Bai Cai that the brilliance of the crystal did not have the same healing properties as the Protoss power in the Eternal Realm. Continued excessive consumption of the crystal posed a life-threatening danger to Bai Cai. Bai Cai brought Wu Geng back to her residence and told him that from the moment she arrived there, she knew it was her home, the place where she was born.
Bai Cai told Wu Geng that she is a member of the demon clan and that the demon realm is her homeland. Upon returning and seeing her fellow clan members suffering, she no longer wanted to hide her true identity. Wu Geng didn't care about Bai Cai's specific clan and only asked her to promise to protect herself. He also promised to do everything in his power to find a solution to save the demon clan, and their bond remained strong.
A Lan, suspecting Bai Cai's demon clan identity due to her Protoss power, was asked by Wu Geng why Fu Xi wanted to kill Bai Cai. A Lan simply told Wu Geng that everything Fu Xi did was for him. A Lan was unwilling to join Wu Geng and the demon clan in attacking the Protoss domain. Wu Geng knew that the Protoss hidden clan had always survived by withdrawing from the world, but this time they had suffered a severe blow and had nowhere else to go.
Only by joining the battle could they ultimately rescue Fu Xi, Wu Geng's grandfather. Wu Geng brought Bai Cai to the cemetery where their demon clan ancestors rested, and there they saw numerous petrified demon clan members bidding farewell to the Great Marshal Vast Sky and Boundless Sea.

It turned out that Vast Sky and Boundless Sea's wife was on the verge of death from the petrification disease, and Against the Heavens went to the Protoss domain to collect the Dawn Flower in order to save her. However, he was discovered by the Protoss eyes.
The Protoss eyes told Against the Heavens that the Dawn Flower's ability to cure petrification was a lie, and that the true cause of the petrification disease was the pollen of the Dawn Flower. The eyes had already spread this pollen throughout the demon realm. Now that Against the Heavens knew this secret, the Protoss eyes intended to kill him. In the moment of crisis, Vast Sky and Boundless Sea arrived to save Against the Heavens. Vast Sky and Boundless Sea told his younger brother, Against the Heavens, that he must not reveal the secret of the Dawn Flower to the demon clan, as it was their hope for survival.
Later, Vast Sky and Boundless Sea sent his brother away, and he ultimately fell at the hands of the Protoss eyes. Wu Geng learned the secret that Against the Heavens had guarded for many years and vowed to relieve the demon clan of their suffering, regardless of the Seven-Day Agreement.
Little Dragonfly's petrification disease relapsed, and Extremely Vicious and Evil, who was worried about her daughter, took her to seek help from Bai Cai.
