Episode 23 recap: Wu Geng formed an alliance with Against the Heavens.
When the Yao Clan learned of the lie about the Dawn Flower and claimed that Against the Heavens was a fraud, Extremely Vicious and Evil even wanted to kill Against the Heavens. Against the Heavens knew that the lie had been exposed and he could no longer win over the crowd, so he was willing to sacrifice himself. The Phoenix instructed Wu Geng to meet an old acquaintance on the day of the Protoss army's gathering. Wu Geng discovered the resurrection of the Ten Xings in the Yao Clan. Xin Yue Kui exposed the lie of the Dawn Flower, causing panic among the Yao Clan. Wu Geng was dissatisfied with Xin Yue Kui's actions and defeated the Protoss forces of Zhui Ri, making it impossible for Xin Yue Kui to continue to deceive the hearts of the Yao Clan.
Against the Heavens was accused by the Yao Clan of being a fraud, and everyone was worried about their future. Extremely Vicious and Evil was also helpless and worried about his daughter Xiao Qingting's petrification disease. Through this incident, Against the Heavens recognized Wu Geng's words. He had previously thought that he was guarding hope for his people, but he had actually made the whole situation more cruel. The tragedy of destiny would not change because of him.
Wu Geng believed that everyone lived in a world of conquest and being conquered, and success was never achieved overnight. The pioneers on the path of progress were never understood by too many people. Xin Wang resisted the Protoss for the sake of the people in the past, but in the end, he was insulted by the people and called an unjust king. Later, he understood his father's choice. People live for righteousness, for being worthy of heaven and earth, for having no regrets in their hearts, and for being fearless in the face of cruelty.
Against the Heavens thanked Wu Geng for his enlightenment and then publicly announced his resignation as the Grand Marshal. He would go to the cemetery tomorrow to accept corporal punishment and give everyone an explanation. The next day, Against the Heavens publicly revealed that he had long been afflicted with the petrification disease. He concealed his condition and used the Protoss' rumors to deceive the hearts of the people. The Protoss took advantage of this and almost caused the entire Yao Clan to fall into chaos. He was willing to endure corporal punishment.
Against the Heavens recalled that his older brother, Vast Sky and Boundless Sea, had told him that only through the most painful trials could one obtain a new rebirth. Perhaps one day they would all die, but their spirits would continue to the next generation so that the Yao Clan would never be defeated.
Against the Heavens commanded his subordinate, Iron-Blood Unmatched, to carry out the execution. He endured the pain of punishment and called on his people to strive for a bright future for the next generation, begging them not to stop because of his mistakes. In order to secure the future of the Yao Clan, everyone must unite. Wu Geng saw that Against the Heavens could no longer bear the corporal punishment and deliberately stepped forward to let Iron-Blood Unmatched continue the punishment. He also stated that the Yao Clan's people were fair and impartial and could not tolerate Iron-Blood Unmatched's partiality.
Wu Geng pointed out that although Against the Heavens was wrong to conceal the lie, it was his unification of the tribes that allowed the Yao Clan to have its current way of life. The Yao Clan people now repaid his kindness with grievances and did not appreciate what Against the Heavens had done. Wu Geng saw that Against the Heavens would rather die under corporal punishment than die on the battlefield, and accused him of forgetting their determination to defeat Hei Long.
The Yao Clan people also woke up one after another, united and determined to fight to the death against the Protoss.
Dancing with the Wind came to visit the heavily injured Against the Heavens. She was angry because, despite Against the Heavens' deep sense of loyalty and righteousness towards the Yao Clan, he never reciprocated her feelings and didn't have a place for her in his heart.
To persuade Extremely Vicious and Evil to agree to their duel, Against the Heavens wanted to bring the Yao Clan back together. He told Dancing with the Wind that his time was running out. Dancing with the Wind was filled with sorrow and pleaded with Against the Heavens not to get hurt again before facing Hei Long. She wanted to have Against the Heavens by her side in the days of light once more.
Against the Heavens accepted Extremely Vicious and Evil's challenge and promised that if Extremely Vicious and Evil won the competition, he would willingly give up his position as Grand Marshal.
After a fierce contest, Against the Heavens emerged victorious, and Extremely Vicious and Evil acknowledged his defeat. Subsequently, Extremely Vicious and Evil brought the tribe to submit to Against the Heavens. Against the Heavens informed everyone that Wu Geng possessed the power of the Colorless World Protoss and was the one who broke the seal on the Yao Realm after ten thousand years. Wu Geng risked his life to obtain the Fire Bodhi, relieving the pain of the Yao Clan's petrification disease. He was the best choice to lead the anti-Protoss army.
Now, the Yao Clan, Human Clan, and Protoss Clan were gathered in one place. Wu Geng stated that their goal was to attack the Protoss domain and kill Hei Long. For the undying vision of the past ten thousand years, for the future where they could have freedom and light, Wu Geng urged everyone to unite and place their trust in their comrades.
To achieve this, he was willing to form an alliance with everyone and face the Protoss without fear of life or death. Wu Geng asked A Lan to introduce the history of the Protoss to everyone. A Lan explained the origin and specific divisions of the Protoss domain. The Protoss domain had two major central institutions: Xin Yue Kui's Shrine and the Holy Sage Hall of the Protoss Eye. To confront Hei Long, they must first defeat the six Protoss tribes of the Shrine and the numerous Protoss in the Holy Sage Hall.
To reach the Protoss domain, they needed to take the sea route, which would require warships. Wu Geng knew that the Xin Kingdom was skilled in navigation and shipbuilding in the past, so he wanted to go to the Xin Kingdom to seek assistance. Before leaving, Wu Geng went to see the Phoenix and learned that Ten Xings had not died but stubbornly refused to wake up.
Wu Geng tried to provoke Ten Xings, and it worked. The competitive nature of Ten Xings was awakened. Ten Xings felt guilty because he had killed Ming Yue and destroyed the Kingdom of Kings. He was willing to accept punishment in that place, but Wu Geng believed that all of this was orchestrated by Xin Yue Kui and not what Ten Xings truly desired. However, Ten Xings kept evading and was afraid to seek revenge against the real mastermind.
