Episode 25 recap: Bai Cai suspected that Wu Geng was not Ah Gou.
Ad informed Zhou Qiao that Wang was imprisoned and no longer seemed alive, but Zhou Qiao didn't believe it. Wu Geng instructed him to go and confirm it himself. Bai Cai noticed that the children were behaving abnormally, and Xin Yue Kui appeared to tell Bai Cai that the children were poisoned and needed Qi-refining techniques to suppress the poison. She asked Bai Cai to seek help from Wu Geng. It was at this moment that Bai Cai realized that the person accompanying them all along was Wu Geng, not Ah Gou.
An Jiang Jun believed that Wu Geng had obtained the power of the Protoss and had defeated the Great Protoss. He had also formed an alliance with the Demon Realm. He believed that Wu Geng could lead them to rebuild Xin Country. Wu Geng had no intention of waging war against the Demon Country; he wanted to completely defeat the Protoss in order to free the people from enslavement.
Wu Geng revealed his plan to find a shipbuilder, and coincidentally, An Jiang Jun knew someone who was skilled in this field and had a strong attachment to Xin Country. Bai Cai inquired with Ad and Shitou about the Eternal Prosperity Fruit. Ad explained that it was a gift from the Protoss and had become the staple food of the people in Xin Country. They believed that anything obtained without effort must not be a good thing.
Initially, the Eternal Prosperity Fruit was grown inside the city, but later, the King of Xin ordered it to be planted outside the city. Ad even speculated that the King was imprisoned by Gui Mu because of this matter. Wu Geng asked Ad to investigate the imprisonment of the King of Xin as they wanted to form an alliance with Xin Country as soon as possible. An Jiang Jun was pleased to see how intelligent and brave Wu Geng had become. He assumed that Wu Geng and Bai Cai were already married and expressed his happiness for Xin Wang and the Queen. However, Wu Geng clarified that they were not yet married, and An Jiang Jun reminded him that they had never properly discussed it, wondering if Bai Cai had any grievances in her heart.
Bai Cai reminisced about her previous life. Although life was difficult, she didn't have to live in constant fear. The past days could not be regained, just like how Ah Gou could not return to his previous innocent self. Wu Geng asked Bai Cai to describe how Ah Gou used to be, reassuring her that as long as they were together, they would always have a home.
Wu Geng embraced Bai Cai and expressed his desire to marry her after defeating Hei Long. Bai Cai readily agreed. In her dream, Bai Cai realized that Ah Gou was not the real Ah Gou, and Xin Yue Kui appeared, trying to sow discord between her and Ah Gou. Bai Cai woke up in a panic and asked Wu Geng, who was beside her, if he was the Ah Gou who had grown up with her. Wu Geng didn't deny it, but Bai Cai still had doubts in her heart.
Xin Yue Kui wanted to use illusions in the realm of empty knowledge to undermine the relationship between Wu Geng and Bai Cai, causing Bai Cai to develop hatred towards Wu Geng. Wu Geng deduced from An Jiang Jun's condition that once the consumption of the Eternal Prosperity Fruit stopped, people would fall ill. The reason the common people showed no abnormalities was because they continued to consume it.
An Jiang Jun speculated that the longer people consumed the Eternal Prosperity Fruit, the greater the harm would be. The children refused to eat the food Bai Cai made for them and instead wanted to continue eating the Eternal Prosperity Fruit. Suddenly, Xin Yue Kui appeared and knocked out the children who were trying to escape to eat the Eternal Prosperity Fruit. She informed Bai Cai that these children were already poisoned.
Wu Geng was worried about Ad, who went to the palace to investigate the news. He decided to go there himself to find out what was happening. On his way out of the palace, Zhou Qiao discovered Wu Geng's presence and realized that Ad was the person who had been with Wu Geng all this time. Zhou Qiao believed that Ad was acting as a spy for Wu Geng, gathering information about the palace. Zhou Qiao intended to confront Ad, but Wu Geng intervened and stopped him.
Wu Geng pointed out that Zhou Qiao was considered insignificant in the eyes of the Protoss and that they wouldn't care about him. Ad informed Zhou Qiao that the king was imprisoned and no longer seemed alive, but Zhou Qiao was reluctant to believe it. Wu Geng instructed Zhou Qiao to go and confirm it himself.
Gui Mu appeared at that moment, and Wu Geng had no choice but to leave the palace with Ad. Gui Mu realized that Wu Geng was not with Bai Cai and hurried to the orphanage to find her. Wu Geng revealed his true identity to Ad, telling him that he was the prince of Xin Country, Wu Geng, but for now, he could only live as Ah Gou.
Ad didn't care about Wu Geng's identity; he only cared about the great hero who saved them from the mine. Bai Cai couldn't cure the children who were falling ill, and Xin Yue Kui appeared again, informing Bai Cai that she needed Qi-refining techniques to save the children, and Wu Geng was the one who excelled in that field.
Xin Yue Kui intentionally revealed that An Jiang Jun was saved by Wu Geng using Qi-refining techniques. Bai Cai once again doubted Ah Gou's identity because of Xin Yue Kui's words. Gui Mu initially wanted to attack Bai Cai but was stopped by Xin Yue Kui, which further fueled his dissatisfaction with her.
Zhou Qiao came looking for his father, Zhou Fa, and unexpectedly discovered that his father's body had begun to petrify. Gui Mu appeared and asked Zhou Qiao if he was willing to join forces with Wu Geng to save his biological father. In front of Gui Mu, Zhou Qiao expressed his hatred towards Wu Geng, stating that although they had a father-son relationship in reality, they had no father-son bond. He wished he could kill Wu Geng and be done with it.
Zhou Qiao only recognized Gui Mu as his adoptive father, greatly disappointing King Zhou Fa. Meanwhile, Wu Geng found A Lan and informed her about the Eternal Prosperity Fruit. He believed that the trees outside the city, which bore the Eternal Prosperity Fruit, were actually made from transformed humans, and there were no man-eating monsters inside the city. The missing people had all turned into trees.
A Lan had never seen the Eternal Prosperity Tree, but she had heard the Kong Que tribe leader mention it and knew that Qi-refining techniques were effective against it. Wu Geng learned that Zi Yu had been to Illusion Island, and A Lan volunteered to go there and seek Zi Yu's help. Gui Mu told Zhou Qiao that humans could never defeat the Protoss, but he could offer Zhou Qiao the throne he desired. Now that Wu Geng knew about Zhou Fa's situation, he would definitely come to rescue him. Zhou Qiao came up with a plan to capture Wu Geng and get him in their hands.
