Episode 6 recap: Wu Geng defeated the Giant Foot Giant.

Wu Geng changed his attitude and endured in order to survive. He and a few companions continuously worked in the mine, and Bai Cai's injuries gradually improved. As winter approached, Lao Cai handed out the animal skins that Chen Jing had instructed him to distribute. He also brought several packets of lotus leaf rice for the slaves to fight over and enjoy. Wu Geng rushed forward and managed to grab two packets, but he was publicly humiliated by Lao Cai. Wu Geng silently endured the humiliation and gave the lotus leaf rice to Bai Cai, unaware that Bai Cai had been observing everything from a corner.

Bai Cai boiled water with the seeds of the processed Honeysuckle flower and asked Wu Geng to deliver the water to the slave who was suffering from a cough, as it had medicinal properties. Ade, the slave who had previously snatched Wu Geng's food, apologized. Wu Geng stated that as long as Ade no longer tried to take things from others in the future, he would not hold a grudge against him for the past.

Ade was grateful for Wu Geng's forgiveness and received the remaining Honeysuckle seeds from Wu Geng. He went back to make the cough remedy. Winter arrived, bringing heavy snowfall. Wu Geng looked at the snowman Bai Cai had built and remembered the time he had spent with his parents. Later, Wu Geng overheard the slaves in the mine talking about their families. He encouraged everyone to stay strong, believing that one day they would all have the opportunity to leave this place.

Bai Cai also urged everyone to keep hope in their hearts, assuring them that one day they would all stand in the sunlight together. To uplift everyone's spirits, Bai Cai led them in dancing, reminding them of happier times. Chen Jing saw the slaves in the mine dancing and singing and, considering the harsh weather, instructed the Centurion to provide them with additional animal skins for warmth, to prevent any deaths from freezing that could delay the extraction of bloodstone.

However, the Centurion did not provide the slaves with extra animal skins. Instead, he informed them that he had secured an additional meal for them. Due to limited food, he encouraged the slaves to compete and fight over the meals. Wu Geng was displeased with the Centurion's manipulation of everyone, but he had to suppress his anger for the sake of Bai Cai and the others. Wu Geng took the initiative to grab a portion of the meal, intending to give it to Bai Cai. This action prompted the Centurion to mock Wu Geng. Bai Cai witnessed Wu Geng's silent endurance and felt heartache for his change.

Wu Geng gave the meat he had snatched to Bai Cai to eat. Bai Cai was moved to tears, thinking about the scene of Wu Geng enduring so much to get that meat. Bai Cai realized that the person in front of her, whom she had known as Ah Gou since waking up in Xincheng, had changed a lot. She asked Wu Geng if he was really Ah Gou, but Wu Geng didn't know how to explain and only said that he had his reasons.

Bai Cai and Ah Gou (Wu Geng) were both people they wanted to protect for each other, and Bai Cai understood that no matter what Ah Gou would become in the future, he would always be her Ah Gou. Wu Geng wanted to take Bai Cai and leave this place, so he told Bai Cai, Xiao Shang, and Shi Tou about his plan to dig a tunnel and escape. Wu Geng knew it was a risky endeavor, but in order to take control of his own fate, he decided to take a chance.

In the following days, Wu Geng worked hard with everyone and maintained a good attitude in front of the Centurion. Secretly, they collaborated to dig the escape tunnel. Shi Tou wanted to become a chef when he got out, while Xiao Shang wanted to achieve something great. The Centurion overheard their plan to dig the tunnel and escape, so he informed Chen Jing about it.

Chen Jing ordered his men to bring Wu Geng and the others for questioning. However, Wu Geng claimed that their accelerated mining was only to repay the Protoss' favor and that they had no intention of escaping. Wu Geng took the opportunity to tell Chen Jing that the Centurion had been insufficiently providing them with food and winter animal skins.

Wu Geng stated that the Centurion wanted to take all the credit and had fabricated lies to slander them. Later, Chen Jing sent people to investigate and discovered a newly dug hole, but it was actually intended for storing bloodstones. It turned out that Wu Geng and the others had deliberately let the Centurion discover their tunnel digging to seize an opportunity to expose him to Chen Jing.

Upon hearing conflicting accounts from the two, Chen Jing decided to have them fight the Giant Foot Giant, and whoever survived would become the Centurion. Desperate for a chance to survive, Wu Geng agreed to the battle. Wu Geng and the Centurion faced the Giant Foot Giant in the arena. Wu Geng stated that both of them were prey for the Giant Foot Giant and should help each other.

The Giant Foot Giant was incredibly powerful and quickly killed the Centurion. Wu Geng, as a mortal, also suffered injuries from the fight. However, he found an opportunity to attack and successfully injured the Giant Foot Giant, winning the battle. Bai Cai was overjoyed at Wu Geng's victory and excitedly rushed forward to kiss him.
