Episode 6 recap: Wu Xiu Zhen caused a disturbance in front of the gate of Huang He Xiang.
Under the persuasion of Li Tian Shun and Li Yun Mian, Da Dao Wang Wu finally agreed to stay. However, Li Yun Mian believed that Da Dao Wang Wu's injury couldn't be dragged on like this, so he decided to ask Doctor Xue to treat him. Li Tian Shun, puzzled, asked his father why he was not worried about causing trouble this time, considering he was always concerned about it before.
Li Yun Mian told his son that one should not be afraid of trouble when faced with it. If he didn't save Da Dao Wang Wu, then he wouldn't be his son. In order to divert the attention of the soldiers, Li Tian Shun borrowed a chicken from Huang He Xiang and returned it after draining its blood. Watching Huang He Xiang stewing the chicken, Li Tian Shun's cousin eagerly picked up chopsticks to taste it, but Huang He Xiang told him that the chicken wasn't meant for him to eat.
Wang Tong Ren discovered the bloodstains and quickly reported it to the deputy commander. The deputy commander and his men followed the trail, but when they reached the spot where the bloodstains disappeared, they found no trace of Da Dao Wang Wu. Wang Tong Ren suspected that Li Tian Shun had rescued Wang Wu and suggested searching Li Tian Shun's house.
When the soldiers approached, Wu Xiu Zhen had a sudden inspiration. She came forward with a basin of water and poured it directly at the gate, cursing Huang He Xiang and accusing him of seducing her man even after getting married.
Two women were arguing when Yang Shang De came out and pointed at Li Tian Shun next to Wu Xiu Zhen, saying that she didn't even know what kind of man her husband was. Li Tian Shun, upon hearing this, advised Yang Shang De to accumulate virtue and not to direct her anger towards him.
The deputy commander and Wang Tong Ren, engrossed in the spectacle before them, forgot that their mission was to arrest someone. Later, upon learning that Doctor Xue had gone to Li Yun Mian's house, they hurriedly went there with their men. In order to help Da Dao Wang Wu and legitimately obtain the Golden Wound Medicine, Wu Xiu Zhen intentionally stirred up trouble with Wang Tong Ren and pretended to get so angry that she bumped her head against a pillar.
Li Tian Shun, feeling guilty for the great sacrifice Wu Xiu Zhen made for him, finally accepted her as his daughter-in-law. When Wu Xiu Zhen's parents arrived, he voluntarily knelt down and called them "Mom and Dad". Yang Shang De discussed with Huang He Xiang the recent events at Li Tian Shun's house, believing that the soldiers must have set their sights on the Li family, so they decided to bring Da Dao Wang Wu to their house.
To monitor Lord Beile, the Old Buddha assigned his maid Mingyue to him.
Lord Beile understood the Old Buddha's intentions. When discussing matters with the steward, although he officially stated that Mingyue was one of his people and could speak freely, he remained cautious of her. Upon learning that the soldiers were searching for Da Dao Wang Wu, he used the excuse of going to learn about the situation while pretending to carve a statue of Maria with Li Tian Shun.
The Old Buddha asked Mingyue if she had discovered anything. Upon learning that Lord Beile discussed matters with the steward, the Old Buddha came up with an idea. After Mingyue returned, she explicitly told the steward that the Old Buddha had sent her, handing him a cup of tea and instructing him to drink it and then feign illness and retire to his hometown. After the steward left, Lord Beile felt empty inside, and Mingyue encouraged him to speak his mind to her.
The Old Buddha inquired about Lord Beile's recent situation from Mingyue and learned that he had taken Li Tian Shun to the foreigners' church. This led the Old Buddha to suspect that Lord Beile was colluding with the foreigners and planning to rescue the emperor. Seeing the Old Buddha's unfavorable expression, Mingyue timidly asked if they were planning to capture Lord Beile. When the Old Buddha mentioned using the chicken to scare the monkey, Mingyue quickly defended Lord Beile.
After Mingyue left, the Old Buddha summoned Prince Liu into the room. Just as Lord Beile returned home, Prince Liu and his men barged in. Lord Beile informed Prince Liu that the ancestors had a rule prohibiting him from associating with ministers, but Prince Liu explicitly stated that he was acting on the Old Buddha's orders and asked Lord Beile to visit Zongren Mansion. As Lord Beile was taken away by Prince Liu, Mingyue deeply regretted her actions.
When Li Tian Shun returned home from the church, he saw soldiers surrounding his house. Thinking they were still after Da Dao Wang Wu, he approached them and questioned their actions. Before he could finish speaking, the soldiers arrested him and took him away without explanation.
