Episode 10 recap: Journalist uncovers the mystery of the treasure.
After Pan Yong finished writing his own story, he was ready to have Luo Zhongming kill Jiang Yuenin. At that moment, Sun Ruichen arrived. Sun Ruichen produced a letter he had written about Pan Yong's smuggling of arms, stating that he had already sent a telegram to the Republican Daily to notify them of this matter. If Pan Yong were to kill them now, the reporters from the Republican Daily would investigate the arms smuggling when the ship docked.
Pan Yong said that he could destroy the arms when the ship docked, but that would ruin him financially, which was not what he wanted. Jiang Yuenin explained that she was not the killer. If Pan Yong killed her and the real killer came forward to commit the crime, he would have no scapegoat. After weighing the pros and cons, Pan Yong decided that it would be more advantageous for him to spare Jiang Yuenin and Sun Ruichen, so he had someone keep an eye on them.
Jiang Yuenin and Sun Ruichen managed to save their lives but were constantly watched by the crew and had no freedom to go anywhere. When Yu Ba saw Jiang Yuenin and the others coming out of Pan Yong's room, he became suspicious and wondered why they were associating with Pan Yong. While having a meal, Sun Ruichen confessed his feelings to Jiang Yuenin, wanting to reconcile with her. However, Jiang Yuenin mentioned two pens, one for each of them, but her pen was no longer usable, indicating that they were not meant to be.
After being rejected, Sun Ruichen unhappily went to the restroom. On the way, he suddenly remembered what Jiang Yuenin had said and recalled the incident when he fought with Song Bo. He suspected that the film was hidden inside his pen. In the dining hall, Jiang Yuenin learned about the situation in the restroom, and all the crew members rushed to provide backup. She followed to see what was happening, only to find Sun Ruichen's glasses on the floor.
