Episode 8 recap: The Illusionist Reveals His True Identity.
Luo Junjun is a socialite who frequents the nightlife scene. She can speak convincingly to anyone and is skilled at deception, but she never expected to be deceived by her so-called lover. After falling victim to scams involving money and her affections, Luo Junjun, unwilling to accept her downfall, became completely immersed in the false happiness brought by gambling and couldn't extricate herself. Her destructive habits led her to accumulate a mountain of debt. A week ago, Luo Junjun found herself cornered by her creditors and nearly resorted to wrist-slitting suicide at home. However, deep inside, she still held onto a sense of defiance, which ultimately made her abandon the idea of suicide.
After giving up on suicide, Luo Junjun continued gambling every day. It was during this time that she met Song Bo, a wealthy and lecherous man. Little did she know that Song Bo was planning to go to Hong Kong at that moment. After Song Bo booked his ticket, Luo Junjun used up all her possessions to buy a ticket on the "Ji Le" ship bound for Hong Kong. At the entrance to the station, Luo Junjun spotted Song Bo and intentionally bumped into him, quickly establishing a connection. They soon became deeply involved with each other.
While Luo Junjun and Song Bo were engrossed in their relationship, Song Bo became involved in a life-threatening situation and entrusted his briefcase to Luo Junjun. Luo Junjun took the briefcase and unexpectedly encountered the true face of the killer who murdered Song Bo—the Illusionist. Seeing an opportunity to make some quick money, she decided to blackmail the Illusionist. Luo Junjun wrote a letter to him and soon received a reply, arranging a meeting. However, what she did not anticipate was that this act of greed would not benefit her; instead, it would bring about her own demise.
The Illusionist captured Luo Junjun and demanded to know the whereabouts of the film roll. Despite searching the entire briefcase, he couldn't find the film roll. Luo Junjun was rendered speechless, unable to seek help. Coincidentally, at that moment, a crew member conducting a search near the casino area heard her loud banging on the gambling table, hoping to attract the attention of the crew.
