Episode 1 recap: Xu Weiwei travels back to ancient times.

Xu Weiwei (played by Chen Fangtong) is an actress who watches herself playing the role of Si Yan in a TV drama. She feels that she has portrayed the malicious supporting character very convincingly and has a great chemistry with her on-screen rival. She is also confident that her character will have a high screen time in the drama due to her familiarity with the script. However, after watching the TV drama, Xu Weiwei realizes that she only appears in the first three episodes. She calls Director Sun to inquire about it, but he casually tells her that Xu Weiwei should consider herself lucky to have scenes with Dai Yao (played by Sun Yiran) and shouldn't expect more.

Feeling uncomfortable as a minor actress, Xu Weiwei falls asleep in her bed and wakes up in ancient times. Xu Weiwei knows that she is dead and has traveled back in time. She feels that she can do whatever she wants in this dreamlike world. Jiang Yu (played by Fang Xiaodong), mistaking Xu Weiwei for an emissary from the Empress, assumes that she wants to bribe him when he sees the silver she is holding.

However, Wen Zixuan (played by Sun Yiran) explains that the silver is just a small token of gratitude for Jiang Yu saving the Imperial Bureau. Jiang Yu finds Wen Zixuan persuasive and decides to accept the silver. Just as Wen Zixuan is about to distribute the remaining silver to others, Xu Weiwei appears, having beaten up the people around her and making flirtatious remarks to Jiang Yu. Jiang Yu becomes angry but restrains himself.

Xu Weiwei tells Wen Zixuan that even as a villain, she wants to be a fleshed-out character. Wen Zixuan struggles to understand Xu Weiwei's words. Xu Weiwei, indifferent, continues to angrily confront Wen Zixuan.
