Episode 3 recap: Wen Zixuan jumped into the well and came back to life.
While Xu Weiwei was happily reversing the plot, she suddenly learned that Wen Zixuan had miraculously revived after jumping into the well. She speculated that Wen Zixuan must have successfully found her sister's relic in the well and might be planning to retaliate against her. Now she had to come up with a foolproof plan. Just as she was thinking of escaping, she encountered Wen Zixuan. Wen Zixuan questioned Xu Weiwei if her sister's death had anything to do with her, otherwise, why would her money pouch be in her sister's gift?
Xu Weiwei looked at her money pouch and felt a sense of despair. She couldn't escape the dominance of the protagonist. Wen Zixuan had taken control of the main storyline, and that meant trouble for her. Xu Weiwei knew time was short, and she hadn't seen the rest of the plot. She had a sudden idea and chose to escape by jumping into the well. Xu Weiwei speculated that kissing Jiang Yu might take her back, so she hesitantly tried to kiss Jiang Yu, but she failed and was discovered by him.
Jiang Yu found Xu Weiwei suspicious, and she had to improvise on the spot. Chu Cheng mocked Xu Weiwei's lines as being low-quality. Just as Jiang Yu was about to get angry, Xu Weiwei successfully returned. Chu Cheng suggested that Xu Weiwei help Jiang Yu find a martial arts manual. Xu Weiwei returned to ancient times and saw that the plot was not in her favor, so she quickly tried to stop it. She wanted to meet Lin Lingfeng before Wen Zixuan did.
Jiang Yu let Xu Weiwei go because he wanted to play the long game and catch a big fish. He always felt that Xu Weiwei's every move revealed something strange and suspicious, so he had to remain vigilant. Xu Weiwei secretly went to see Jiang Yu, but he discovered her and held a sword to her neck.
