Episode 13 recap: Lin Hai Lan Wants to Transfer Back to the City for Her Family
In the aftermath of the ecological assessment, the forestry department was still reluctant to refill the artificial lake. Nie Wen reminded Luo Yuan that they needed to determine exactly which areas of the ecological forest were damaged and then work on restoring them. Xia Wei Dong also expressed concern that the artificial lake had become a liability and could potentially turn into a major source of pollution.
Luo Yuan and Geng Nian brought in experts from the Environmental Planning Institute, but the two experts had conflicting opinions. One said the artificial lake should be refilled to restore the original ecology, while the other felt the current state was fine and didn't need to be disturbed. Luo Yuan stepped in to mediate, asking the experts to provide data and write up a report outlining the pros, cons, and environmental impacts of both options.
Jiang Dan handed over the case of Hai A Ping's illegal eel fry fishing to Lin Hai Lan, with all the evidence in order. Lin Hai Lan was grateful and proactively cleared up the previous misunderstanding with Jiang Dan. Jiang Dan also revealed that he had initiated both criminal charges and civil compensation claims against Hai A Ping.
Due to Guan Yi's sudden business trip, Lin Hai Lan's two daughters were placed under the care of a police officer. Luo Yuan also proposed an idea for offsite replanting, where trees would be planted in other areas to maintain the ecological balance while still meeting the plaintiff's demands.
When Geng Nian drove Lin Hai Lan home, he asked her about resolving the issue with Zhao Qing Sheng. Lin Hai Lan said she planned to apply for a transfer back to the city of Da Jiang after wrapping up this case, but was unsure how to bring it up to Luo Yuan. Geng Nian suggested that she help Zhao Qing Sheng find a job, so he could live a better life.
