Episode 4 recap: Zhu Jing Cao suspected his wife of having an affair.
After Mr. Tang saw the repaired painting, he didn't say much and decided to buy it. Gu Mo Li repeatedly said that he didn't need to make things difficult. Mr. Tang mentioned that she had a great personal charm and someone would definitely pay for this painting. Gu Mo Li immediately understood and wanted to return the payment to Mr. Tang, but Mr. Tang gave her Jiang Hai Tao's business card.
Gu Mo Li immediately contacted Jiang Hai Tao and made a phone call. During the call, Mi Na overheard the name Jiang Hai Tao. Coincidentally, Zhu Jing Cao, who was at work, received a picture. It was a photo of Gu Mo Li having a meal with Jiang Hai Tao.
Zhu Jing Cao became suspicious and called Gu Mo Li on WeChat, but she didn't answer. When he called again, she hung up on him. Zhu Jing Cao sent a message asking what she was doing, and Gu Mo Li, for some unknown reason, lied and said she was in a meeting. Zhu Jing Cao became even more suspicious and disregarded his work, directly going to the hotel to inquire at the front desk. At this point, Zhu Jing Cao already suspected that his wife was having an affair. Reluctantly, he went back to the gallery and listened to Mi Na embellishing the story. He learned that Gu Mo Li didn't go on a business trip today. She not only came to work at the gallery as usual but also sold the painting that Coco had damaged. Interestingly, the person who bought the painting was Jiang Hai Tao, an old acquaintance.
Zhu Jing Cao found Gu Mo Li downstairs at Shen Liu Liu's house. He accused her of secretly staying at Shen Liu Liu's house without informing him. Gu Mo Li quickly grabbed her luggage and went back home with him, but they had a big argument at home. Zhu Jing Cao was mostly angry that Gu Mo Li had met Jiang Hai Tao behind his back, and the hotel confirmed that she had booked a room. He was unsure if anything had happened between her and Jiang Hai Tao during their stay.
Gu Mo Li, on the other hand, was furious upon discovering that Zhu Jing Cao had investigated her. She immediately demanded a divorce.
Zhang Shan Ya wanted to intervene and persuade, but Zhu Da Li refused and even added fuel to the fire by accusing his son of not being able to control his wife, who he claimed caused trouble. The two of them quickly went to the Civil Affairs Bureau to handle the divorce, but there was a one-month cooling-off period for the divorce. Zhu Jing Cao didn't want to divorce and followed Gu Mo Li back to the hotel. To his surprise, he discovered that Gu Mo Li had painted a picture as a seventh-anniversary wedding gift for him. Zhu Jing Cao realized that he had misunderstood his wife and apologized for his mistake. Gu Mo Li also knew that he had been under a lot of pressure lately.
With the resolution of conflicts between the couple, Gu Mo Li thought about exposing the person behind the hidden camera photos. She suspected Mi Na, but she had no evidence. Zhu Jing Cao went to the front desk to request surveillance footage and took photos of all the hotel receptionists at the same time. Gu Mo Li asked the gallery receptionist and found out that on the day the photos were taken, Mi Na was at the gallery attending to clients, which provided an alibi.
Gu Mo Li looked at all the photos of the hotel receptionists sent by Zhu Jing Cao and checked Mi Na's social media account. She discovered that Mi Na was friends with one of the receptionists. Mi Na knew about the hotel because Zhang Shan Ya had brought her the hotel receipt and questioned her about it.
Gu Mo Li scolded the narrow-minded Mi Na, and seeing her face turn red with anger made Gu Mo Li happy. Zhu Jing Cao took her home with him, intending to have a proper conversation with Zhu Da Li. However, Zhu Da Li displayed his patriarchal attitude, and Gu Mo Li responded with a few words. Zhu Jing Cao defended his wife, and Zhu Da Li became furious and wanted to physically harm him. Zhang Shan Ya intervened to stop him, but Zhu Da Li pushed her aside. Eventually, Coco appeared and managed to calm Zhu Da Li down.
Wang Ling Xiao suggested gathering both families on Mother's Day, thinking that it might help resolve the conflicts. Before Zhu Jing Cao could respond, Huang Qian Niu couldn't keep his mouth shut and sent a WeChat message to his own mother, who then told Wang Ling Xiao's mother, causing Wang Ling Xiao to feel like hitting him.
The thought of gathering both families for Mother's Day overwhelmed Gu Mo Li. She had already prepared gifts but had no money left in her pocket. Seeing this, Shen Liu Liu offered her some advice.
