Episode 13 recap: Pan Yue reopened the Lantern Festival.
Yang Cai Wei started singing childhood nursery rhymes again, and Pan Yue gradually regained consciousness. In order to buy time, Zhuolan Jiang asked about the relationship between the two families. Upon hearing that Jishan Hall and Yinyu Tower had a close relationship but rarely interacted, Gu Yong appeared somewhat uncomfortable. He only mentioned that Zhuolan Jiang's father didn't tell him the reason, but there must be his own reasons for it.
After some delay tactics from Zhuolan Jiang, he thought that Pan Yue and Yang Cai Wei should be almost done, so he got up and left. However, when the agreed time came for Yang Cai Wei and Pan Yue to leave the dungeon, they discovered that someone had arrived. The two quickly hid as the person turned out to be Madam Gu. She seemed to have come to deliver food to the person in the dungeon and called out her son's name, urging him to reconcile with Gu Yong.
After dealing with Zhuolan Jiang, Gu Yong realized that Madam Gu had disappeared, and there were signs of an intruder in the dungeon, indicating that Pan Yue suspected him. So he decided that since Pan Yue had come, he shouldn't let him leave. Zhuolan Jiang and Bai Xiaosheng went to attend Yang Cai Wei's banquet, but Yang Cai Wei hadn't arrived yet. The two engaged in a verbal dispute, and Bai Xiaosheng noticed that Zhuolan Jiang seemed to be very fond of Yang Cai Wei, remembering even the dishes she liked to eat.
Bai Xiaosheng mentioned that she grew up together with Yang Cai Wei and knew everything she liked, so she wanted to collaborate with him on a business deal; otherwise, she might say some bad things about him. Zhuolan Jiang agreed, and what Bai Xiaosheng wanted was the sword in his hand. Madam Gu was taken away in a crazy manner, and Yang Cai Wei and Pan Yue breathed a sigh of relief. It turned out that the person being held here was Gushan, who was likely the culprit. But what mistake did Gushan make to make Gu Yong act this way? The two decided to leave but found the door locked. The dungeon was filled with unidentified gas, indicating that Gu Yong didn't intend to let them live.
Zhuolan Jiang and Bai Xiaosheng, seeing that Yang Cai Wei hadn't arrived yet, decided to go to the county government office first. Pan Yue and Yang Cai Wei gradually lost strength, and Pan Yue deeply regretted coming to Heyang. Perhaps if they hadn't come, Yang Cai Wei wouldn't have died.
Yang Cai Wei wanted to confess her identity when she saw the situation, but Pan Yue found an exhaust vent and smashed it open with his fists. He carried the unconscious Yang Cai Wei and left.
Back at the county government office, Yang Cai Wei was still weak and powerless. Zhuolan Jiang stared at Pan Yue with a fierce gaze. Pan Yue thought of the scene in the dungeon where Yang Cai Wei saved him and remembered two months ago when he was in the dungeon, grieving and sorrowful. The princess suddenly came to visit him and proposed cooperation. She found Yang's father's death very suspicious and didn't believe Pan Yue was the culprit who killed Yang Cai Wei. She wanted to investigate the people who were cultivating power in the court.
That day, Pan Yue swore to find the culprit, but now that the case of his deceased wife remained unsolved, he became concerned about Shang Guan Zhi. This made him feel deeply guilty. Bai Xiaosheng disguised herself as Zhuolan Jiang, holding his bow and went to the Ghost Market to attract attention. Pan Yue's state of mind became different when he saw Yang Cai Wei, and he felt uncomfortable being around her.
Finding Gushan was like finding a needle in a haystack, so it would be better to let him come to them. Pan Yue decided to reopen the Lantern Festival and stage a violent incident. He believed that Gushan wouldn't be able to resist the temptation. Zhuolan Jiang arrived and said he wanted to organize the Lantern Festival together with the county government office. However, the people avoided the Lantern Festival, so Yang Cai Wei came up with a solution. She suggested that Zhuolan Jiang should participate in the float parade. When Pan Yue opposed the idea, Yang Cai Wei reluctantly said that Zhuolan Jiang was indeed unsuitable, but Pan Yue had never liked to show his face.
Pan Yue fell into the trap, just as Yang Cai Wei had anticipated. She felt a sense of satisfaction. From childhood to adulthood, he really liked this trick. Zhuolan Jiang heard that someone was impersonating him and causing trouble in the Ghost Market, so he found Bai Xiaosheng. However, Bai Xiaosheng claimed that those things belonged to her and that they had been taken from her by them before.
Suddenly, they heard the sound of someone approaching. Bai Xiaosheng wanted to escape, but it was too late. Waves of black-clothed individuals emerged, but fortunately, someone arrived in time to intercept them and shake them off.
