Episode 21 recap: Pan Yue, Yang Cai Wei, and Cai Wei recognized each other.

According to Shen Ci's diary, a year ago, late at night, Miao Zhuang rushed back to the dormitory in a panic after going to the bathroom. He told Shen Ci in a distracted manner that he accidentally saw Dean Chen go to the back mountain, holding a lantern in his hand. On each of the several boats in the back mountain, there was a ghostly figure standing, and their lanterns lit up together, with a ripple pattern on them.

Miao Zhuang was still in a state of shock, and that night he died suddenly. Shen Ci found this matter suspicious but didn't dare to make a fuss. He secretly invited a coroner to perform an autopsy, but unexpectedly Dean Chen claimed that Miao Zhuang had been infected with the plague and had to be cremated immediately. Shen Ci confronted Dean Chen, but Chen Fu and others targeted him and tortured him for their own amusement.

Pan Yue speculated that the back mountain might be a stronghold of the Ripple Organization, and Miao Zhuang accidentally discovered their secret, so he was silenced. Pan Yue and Yang Cai Wei recalled hearing water sounds during their last visit to the back mountain, so they immediately went there again and found an entrance to a cave.

Pan Yue and Yang Cai Wei descended into the cave, where there was indeed water and signs of things being stored. It seemed that they were already aware of their progress. Yang Cai Wei saw a piece of cloth, thinking it might be a bag for transporting goods, so they decided to take it back for further examination.

However, their whereabouts had already been discovered by Dean Chen. He intended to harm them, but when Yang Cai Wei and Pan Yue were traversing through the mountains, they suddenly heard a cry for help coming from a box. Pan Yue went forward to investigate and found a Illusion Twilight bug raised by Shen Yan. He had been bitten! Yang Cai Wei was in great anxiety, but at this moment, a group of black-clad people emerged and attacked them. Pan Yue struggled to endure the discomfort but found it difficult to hold on.

Seeing that Pan Yue couldn't see anymore, Yang Cai Wei had no choice but to command him loudly to fight the enemies, while she accidentally fell off a cliff. Pan Yue anxiously followed and jumped down. Unable to see and unable to hear Yang Cai Wei's response, Pan Yue could only keep calling out Yang Cai Wei's name.

When Yang Cai Wei woke up, he realized that he had already learned his own identity. It turned out that his heart had always belonged only to himself. Touched, he hugged Pan Yue tightly. Bai Xiao Sheng helped Zhuo Lan Jiang inquire about the news of the Jade Toad. The two of them hid in a corner and observed, but because of the close distance, there was some ambiguity between them. They followed the person who came to buy things all the way to the back mountain of the Silver Rain Tower. Zhuo Lan Jiang was worried that it would be dangerous for Bai Xiao Sheng to follow him, so he went alone. Unexpectedly, he opened Zhuo's father's tombstone and entered a secret room.

Zhuo Lan Jiang followed inside and saw a familiar figure. Yang Cai Wei tried various methods to treat Pan Yue's eyes, but suddenly her methods stopped working, and Pan Yue's eyes even started bleeding. Yang Cai Wei gloomily went to interrogate Shen Yan in the prison cell, and Shen Yan said that if there was no improvement after three days, Pan Yue might never be able to see again.

Pan Yue, enveloped in darkness, was once again consumed by childhood trauma. He urgently called out for A Ze. Yang Cai Wei heard the voice and rushed in, noticing that Pan Yue seemed a bit shy. Yang Cai Wei brought up the incident when Pan Yue kissed her in the old temple and playfully threatened to kiss him back, which made Pan Yue take the initiative.

While helping Pan Yue wipe his body, Yang Cai Wei discovered a scar on his abdomen, which turned out to be the wound inflicted by the official after Yang Cai Wei's death. Learning the truth, Yang Cai Wei felt even more guilty. Pan Yue had done so much for her, yet she had doubted him.

Pan Yue knew that his eyes might never recover, but even if he knew he would become a burden, he didn't want to leave Yang Cai Wei. Zhuo Lan Jiang was locked up by his father. Since seeing his father, Zhuo Lan Jiang realized that he had been manipulated like a puppet all along. Zhuo's father had become a high-ranking official in the capital city with the help of his good friend, but he used members of the Jinshui Gang to bring Zhuo Lan Jiang to the brink of death.

He thought they were brothers, but they were nothing more than his father's lapdogs. To deceive his opponents, his father had Sun Zhen bring Zhuo Lan Jiang back, and his father was responsible for the death of Yang's father and later the murder of Yang Cai Wei. Zhuo Lan Jiang was devastated and repeatedly questioned who was behind it all, but his father insisted that he had to sacrifice himself because some things couldn't be undone.

Disappointed, Zhuo Lan Jiang urged him to leave. From childhood to adulthood, his father was the great hero of the Silver Rain Tower, not this mere watchdog who wagged his tail for his master's favor. Yang Cai Wei administered acupuncture treatment to Pan Yue, and there was only one chance. Pan Yue unconditionally trusted her. Fortunately, Yang Cai Wei succeeded, and Pan Yue regained his vision.

Zhuo Lan Jiang had not appeared for several days. Bai Xiao Sheng went to ask Ah Fu but was informed that he had some business to attend to. Yang Cai Wei unintentionally realized that the goods piled up in the back mountain should be smuggled salt. Pan Yue gathered people to search and confiscate the Xinzhen Academy, but Dean Chen had already escaped.
