Episode 1 recap: Huo Xiao Xie stole the tribute offerings, and San Zhi Liu was kidnapped.
Since the Emperor Qin Shihuang, there has been a folk legend about the sealed mystical power of the Sacred King's Cauldron. Whoever possesses this power can rally the martial arts world and unify the land. The Sacred King's Cauldron has always been guarded by the Five Elements Clan, but it disappeared during the chaos of war. Twenty years later, in the city of Fengtian, the Jade Embryo Pearl suddenly appears inside the cauldron, arousing the interest of the Five Elements Clan, who all want to obtain the pearl. Zhang Si Ye is a wealthy aristocrat in Fengtian City, but the people know that he secretly colludes with Japan and smuggles national treasures. As a result, the students of Fengtian City constantly organize protest marches against Zhang Si Ye's despicable actions, but Zhang Si Ye wields great power and frequently throws the protesting students into prison.
Huo Xiao Xie, in order to celebrate the birthday of his foster father San Zhi Liu, leads a few fellow disciples to buy pastries in the street. However, they don't have much money and can only gaze longingly at the pastries displayed in the shop window. Huo Xiao Xie claims to have a way to find even more delicious pastries. While they are discussing, a water cart from Zhang Si Ye's mansion passes by. Huo Xiao Xie deliberately provokes a dispute among his fellow disciples and blocks the water cart, using the opportunity to sneak under the cart and secretly enter Zhang's mansion.
Zhang Si Ye is preparing to organize an auction and intends to send the female body jade, which can activate the Jade Embryo Pearl, to Japan. The Chief of Police, Zheng Ze Dao, arrives at Zhang's mansion ahead of time to inspect the security system. Zhang Si Ye seems unwilling to involve the police and invites Zheng Ze Dao to play chess with him. He also instructs his butler, Mr. Zhou, to bring in an antique dealer and questions whether the dealer has brought a fake item. He smashes the antique with a chess piece to make Zheng Ze Dao understand the consequences of blocking his business.
Huo Xiao Xie found the ancestral hall of the Zhang mansion and selected a few pastries from the altar and stuffed them into his pockets. Suddenly, he heard footsteps and quickly hid under the altar. He could hear someone else, just like him, secretly eating the pastries from the altar. In confusion, the curtain of the altar was lifted, and a beautiful woman discovered him. The woman's name was Shui Yao Er, and they questioned each other about their intentions of stealing the offerings. When a passing servant heard noises in the room, they both had to hide under the altar together.
The servant didn't notice anything unusual and left the ancestral hall. Huo Xiao Xie and Shui Yao Er emerged from under the altar and discovered that the item covered by the curtain was the female body jade. The most important thing now was to leave the Zhang mansion. Huo Xiao Xie prepared to crawl out through a dog hole with the pastries when he was caught by Shui Yao Er. She yelled for help, accusing him of being a thief. The mansion's servants chased after Huo Xiao Xie, and his fellow disciples who were waiting nearby followed suit. After finally shaking off the pursuit from the Zhang mansion, they were apprehended by Zheng Ze Dao, who seemed to be prepared in advance.
Huo Xiao Xie was no stranger to prison, but there was a formidable person who was Zhang Si Ye's spy, making him even more vulnerable inside. Huo Xiao Xie couldn't stand it and decided to play a prank on the spy. As a result, he was subdued and received a severe beating. Zheng Ze Dao offered a favor to the prison warden, requesting the release of Huo Xiao Xie and the students. The warden agreed, and soon Zheng Ze Dao rescued Huo Xiao Xie from the clutches of the formidable person. He proposed an exchange: in exchange for their freedom, Huo Xiao Xie would help him obtain the female body jade during the auction at the Zhang mansion the next day, to prevent the national treasure from falling into the hands of the Japanese. Since the Zhang mansion had tight security, Zheng Ze Dao gave Huo Xiao Xie a map of the mansion as well.
Huo Xiao Xie and his fellow disciples returned to San Zhi Liu's courtyard, only to find the door locked. San Zhi Liu seemed hesitant and spoke differently from usual. They broke in through a window and discovered that San Zhi Liu was bound by the female warrior Hei San Bian. Hei San Bian demanded that San Zhi Liu resume his old profession and infiltrate the Zhang mansion to steal treasures. San Zhi Liu claimed to have turned over a new leaf, but Hei San Bian had no other choice. Suddenly, she noticed the pastry box brought back by Huo Xiao Xie and demanded that he help her find the female body jade. Only then would she release San Zhi Liu.
