Episode 7 recap: Lu Zhen Zhen joined Chuan Bailou.
Gu Man Ting bought a lot of food to visit Lu Zhen Zhen. Lu Zhen Zhen happened to see Xu Hao walking with a woman and quickly grabbed Gu Man Ting, unaware that Gu Man Ting had already seen the two of them.Qin Xin was upset because she didn't get Liang Qing Ran's approval. She went to find Liang Qing Ran to confront him but grew increasingly resentful of Liu Si Yuan. Liu Si Yuan overheard their entire conversation. Liang Qing Ran asked him to explain why he didn't want Chuan Bailou, and Liu Si Yuan shared his thoughts, but Liang Qing Ran dismissed them.
After careful consideration, Liu Si Yuan still went to Liang Qing Ran's office, but Liang Qing Ran didn't give him time to express his thoughts. The Chuan Bailou project was being fought over by Qin Xin and urged by the boss. Seeing the situation, Liu Si Yuan could only take on the Chuan Bailou project under pressure.
Liang Qing Ran gave Liu Si Yuan a business card for a psychologist. She knew that Lu Zhen Zhen had some connection to Chuan Bailou, but she didn't want Liu Si Yuan to let these things affect his work. Chen Dong consulted Gu Da Peng on the secrets of making fish-flavored shredded pork. Gu Da Peng imparted his unique skills to him and also told Chen Dong to send Lu Zhen Zhen a jar of doubanjiang (fermented broad bean paste) every three months. This had been a long-standing tradition that hadn't changed for decades.
Gu Man Ting discovered evidence of Xu Hao being with someone else and felt distressed. Liang Qing Ran's cat ate some iris flowers, and it was said that cats would die from eating them. Liang Qing Ran immediately rushed to the pet hospital with her cat. The auntie, seeing her compassionate act, urged her to get married and have children, but Liang Qing Ran fired her. Chen Dong came to pick up Lu Zhen Zhen and said he wanted to take her somewhere. The cat was fine, but Liang Qing Ran was scolded by the veterinarian, who told her that if she chose to have a cat, she had to take responsibility for it. Chen Dong took Lu Zhen Zhen to a place where doubanjiang was made. Previously, it was Huan Ge's father who delivered doubanjiang to Chuan Bailou, but now Huan Ge was doing it.
Chen Dong carefully made two bowls of beef noodles and ate them with Lu Zhen Zhen. The secret ingredient in the noodles was doubanjiang. Lu Zhen Zhen reminisced about her days in Beijing, and Chen Dong advised her to live a happy life, but Lu Zhen Zhen remained stubborn.
Suddenly, Chuan Bailou was vandalized, and a group of people demanded that Gu Da Peng repay the money. It turned out that Gu Da Peng had acted as a guarantor for someone else, but that person had run away without repaying the debt.
Chen Dong kicked the other person out, and Lu Zhen Zhen bravely moved out legally as well. The two of them painted the walls of Chuan Bailou together, and Lu Zhen Zhen confessed that she hadn't been happy during this time. Chen Dong assured her that he didn't have any ulterior motives and wanted her to stay at Chuan Bailou.
Lu Zhen Zhen understood his meaning and ultimately decided to stay at Chuan Bailou and become Chen Dong's partner. In the evening, Gu Man Ting and everyone celebrated Lu Zhen Zhen joining Chuan Bailou, but they didn't answer the phone when Liu Si Yuan called.
