Episode 11 recap: Zhao Ling and Li Xiaoyao joined forces to subdue the Crimson Ghost King.
Li Xiaoyao and the others brought back Jiang Shaoyun, and Han Mengci was extremely grateful. Lin Yueru reminded everyone that the immediate priority was to control the Corpse Fiends. Zhao Ling suddenly remembered that Xiaoshitou had a solution, so she took out the bead chain and called for him.
Xiaoshitou had been practicing in the Jade Buddha Temple for a thousand years and was well aware of the origins of the nearby Corpse Fiends.
Many years ago, Han Kuang was ordered by his sect to exorcise demons in the Ghost Yin Mountain, where he met Mengke, who had been practicing for a hundred years. Although they became close friends, Mengke was regarded as a monster by the world, which led to Han Kuang's reputation being ruined. Han Kuang and Mengke discovered a blood pool in a desolate tomb and attempted to seal the Corpse Fiends, but failed. Mengke jumped into the blood pool to suppress the Crimson Ghost King.
Han Kuang stayed in Baihe Town to protect the villagers who were bitten by the Corpse Fiends, including Han Mengci, a baby left behind by a couple. Han Kuang later found the Earth Spirit Pearl, but it could only alleviate Mengke's corpse poison and could not revive him. As Han Physician Xian, he searched for a cure while battling the Corpse Fiends.
Now, Xiaoshitou's appearance has brought new hope to everyone. Can they find the cure, subdue the Corpse Fiends, and unravel the thousand-year-old grudge?
After listening to Xiaoshitou's account, everyone blamed Han Kuang. Suddenly, Zhao Ling fainted, and Han Mengci discovered that she was pregnant.
Zhao Ling requested that it be kept a secret.
Upon learning the cause of the Corpse Fiends' proliferation, Li Xiaoyao, Zhao Ling, and Lin Yueru once again went to the desolate tomb. Han Kuang guarded Mengke, while Zhao Ling resurrected the Ghost General with blood, but unexpectedly activated the Crimson Ghost King.
Xiaoshitou suggested using the Devouring Insect to delay the Crimson Ghost King, and Zhao Ling followed suit. Mengke awakened and begged Han Kuang to kill him to prevent the Crimson Ghost King from causing havoc. Han Kuang hesitated, but Li Xiaoyao decisively attacked the heart of the Crimson Ghost King. Han Kuang jumped into the blood pool, permanently suppressing it.
Li Xiaoyao accidentally touched the Devouring Insect and faced a life-threatening crisis.
Zhao Ling exhausted her magical power to save him but revealed her snake form. Afraid of scaring Li Xiaoyao, she left alone. Anu encountered Zhao Ling, and they used to be good companions. Anu told Zhao Ling about her origins and invited her to find the Five Spirit Pearls to save Nanzhao together.
Although Zhao Ling had once yearned for a normal life, Anu used the Holy Spirit Pearl to remove her snake form, making her realize her special mission.
