Episode 12 recap: The Antique Appraisal Conference is approaching, and everyone is rushing to Yangzhou.
A Nu sensed the location of the Wind Spirit Pearl and planned to go to Yangzhou two days later. Zhao Ling Er hesitated, but A Nu didn't delve deeper into it. Li Xiao Yao recovered his strength and improved his internal skills. He wanted to accompany Zhao Ling Er back to Nanzhao. However, Zhao Ling Er was worried about the fate of the descendants of Nüwa and was unwilling to hinder Li Xiao Yao's martial arts path.
Xiao Shi Tou asked about Zhao Ling Er's unborn child, and Zhao Ling Er considered leaving alone to prevent Li Xiao Yao from being trapped. Han Meng Ci and Jiang Shao Yun hosted a banquet for Li Xiao Yao, and Lin Yue Ru suggested that they compete before parting ways. The closeness between the two made Zhao Ling Er feel that she might need to withdraw.
The next day, Zhao Ling Er, A Nu, and Tang Yu left by boat. Lin Yue Ru felt sad and reluctant. She discovered that she had fallen in love with Li Xiao Yao but didn't want to compete with Zhao Ling Er for his affection. She encountered Zhao Ling Er by the river and hurried back to Baihe Village to inform Li Xiao Yao.
Li Xiao Yao rushed to the dock and learned that there was only one boat to Yangzhou. Fortunately, with the help of Lin Yue Ru and Liu Jin Yuan, they persuaded the boatman with a large sum of money to make an extra trip and successfully caught up with Zhao Ling Er.
Zhao Ling Er and A Nu arrived in Yangzhou and were attracted by the bustling market. They heard that the prefect would hold an Antique Appraisal Conference to raise funds for disaster relief, and they decided to participate. At the entrance of the prefect's mansion, they learned that they needed an invitation to enter. A scalper was selling invitations at a high price and also offered accommodation at an inn. Although A Nu found the scalper's behavior suspicious, the three of them still stayed there. Li Xiao Yao arrived in Yangzhou later and searched for Zhao Ling Er and the others.
At the same inn, he inquired with the innkeeper about people from Nanzhao but to no avail. During a meal, a wealthy merchant mentioned the Antique Appraisal Conference and his golden gourd, expressing concern about the possibility of the treasure being stolen.
