Episode 13 recap: Ji San Niang plans a theft, and Li Xiao Yao is framed.
Li Xiao Yao hurriedly arrives at the appraisal ceremony in Yangzhou, but he is stopped by the gatekeeper and learns that he needs an invitation letter to enter. He is at a loss. He doesn't have enough money to make a donation of millions. Liu Jin Yuan suggests sneaking in, but Li Xiao Yao has another plan: to disguise himself as the young master of the Shangshu Mansion and a maid-servant, successfully infiltrating the event.
Zhao Ling Er, A Nu, and Tang Yu also encounter difficulties with fake invitation letters, but they manage to pass by confusing the guards.
Inside the venue, the crowd is drawn to the treasure brought by the Lord Shangshu. Zhao Ling Er notices that the treasure is different from the Earth Spirit Pearl and suspects that there is no Wind Spirit Pearl here, but there has been some contact with it.
Tang Yu speculates that the Wind Spirit Pearl may be in the Governor's Mansion.
While Li Xiao Yao and the others are searching upstairs, Li Xiao Yao's waist pouch is stolen. He immediately realizes that the thief is Ji San Niang, a notorious female thief in Yangzhou. Zhao Ling Er accidentally loses the hairpin that Li Xiao Yao gave her, which is taken by Ji San Niang.
At the appraisal ceremony, Li Xiao Yao reunites with Lin Yue Ru, but there is no sign of Zhao Ling Er. Upon hearing that the highlight of the event is the Governor's treasure, Li Xiao Yao thinks of the Five Spirit Pearls and suspects that Zhao Ling Er's disappearance is related to the treasure.
In the chaos, Zhu the merchant accuses Lin Yue Ru of stealing his purple-gold gourd, and Li Xiao Yao notices the hairpin on Ji San Niang's head, suspecting her involvement in Zhao Ling Er's whereabouts.
Back at the inn, Zhao Ling Er discovers that the hairpin is missing and feels heartbroken.
The Governor conducts a search in the treasure tower and eventually recovers the purple-gold gourd, revealing that the thief failed to transfer the stolen goods. At night, Li Xiao Yao follows Ji San Niang and discovers her sneaking into the treasure vault. He and Lin Yue Ru secretly follow her. Soon, Li Xiao Yao spots Ji San Niang, but it triggers a mechanism set up by the Governor, and soldiers appear to capture the two.
Only then does Li Xiao Yao realize that he has been manipulated by Ji San Niang.
