Episode 14 recap: Liu Jin Yuan saved people while Li Xiao Yao was released from prison.
Li Xiao Yao and Lin Yue Ru were mistakenly accused of stealing treasures from the Treasure Pavilion and were captured along with Liu Jin Yuan, who was seen as their accomplice. The governor threatened them, promising leniency if they revealed Liu Jin Yuan's whereabouts. Both of them firmly denied any involvement, but as a result, Li Xiao Yao took the cruel punishment of being beaten instead of Lin Yue Ru, in order to protect her.
A Nu returned to the inn and found Zhao Ling Er anxiously waiting. Zhao Ling Er mistakenly thought that A Nu had gone to find the Wind Spirit Pearl, but A Nu revealed the plight of Li Xiao Yao and Lin Yue Ru. Zhao Ling Er decided to take the risk and rescue them, and A Nu couldn't stop her, so he provided Tang Yu's Confusion Insects to assist her.
The injured Li Xiao Yao received careful care from Lin Yue Ru, who applied a special medicinal powder from the Lin family on him.
