Episode 2 recap: Li Xiao Yao had amnesia but saved Zhao Ling Er from danger.
Seeing that Li Xiao Yao had no recollection of their agreement from ten years ago, Zhao Ling Er's grandmother signaled for Zhao Ling Er to help Li Xiao Yao regain his memories. The two of them arrived in front of a large tree covered in blue flowers. Zhao Ling Er turned around, and suddenly Li Xiao Yao was struck by several fragments of memories. The person in front of him seemed familiar, but he couldn't recall anything about the engagement mentioned by Zhao Ling Er's grandmother.
Zhao Ling Er then uncovered a stone from under the tree, and there were some words carved on it. It said that Li Xiao Yao promised to marry Zhao Ling Er and had no regrets in this lifetime. Following the fragments of memories, they went back ten years ago when Li Xiao Yao had mentioned that he would return to Xianling Island and marry Zhao Ling Er after the blue wisteria tree bloomed and shed its flowers ten times.
With this realization, Li Xiao Yao suddenly recognized the person in front of him and tightly embraced Zhao Ling Er. With the preparations made by Zhao Ling Er's grandmother, they held a wedding ceremony and became husband and wife. After spending a passionate night together, Li Xiao Yao combed Zhao Ling Er's hair. Following the customs of the Central Plains, they each cut a lock of their own hair and exchanged it with each other, symbolizing their marital bond.
Zhao Ling Er handed the Purple Gold Pill to Li Xiao Yao, and after taking it, Li Xiao Yao expressed that he would first go back to save his aunt. Once his aunt recovered, he would definitely return to Xianling Island and never be separated from Zhao Ling Er again. So, the two bid a reluctant farewell.
As Li Xiao Yao was about to board the ship and leave, he suddenly noticed an unusual protrusion on the beach. Shortly after, several men dressed in Western Regions attire appeared beside Zhao Ling Er. The two sides immediately engaged in a confrontation, but Zhao Ling Er was clearly overwhelmed. Suddenly, her grandmother appeared with a few attendants.
A standoff ensued between them and the men from the Western Regions. Upon closer inspection, Li Xiao Yao realized that these men were the wealthy merchants who had stayed at his aunt's inn. Realizing that Zhao Ling Er was in danger, Li Xiao Yao quickly jumped off the boat, ready to intervene and save her. However, when he woke up again, everything had changed.
To Li Xiao Yao's surprise, Zhang Sige was by his side. Li Xiao Yao quickly took out the Purple Gold Pill and asked Zhang Sige to take it back to the inn to save his aunt's life. Li Xiao Yao himself needed to return to Xianling Island to save someone. Zhang Sige assumed that Li Xiao Yao's brain was affected by the impact of the waves and asked who needed saving. However, Li Xiao Yao was still unclear in his consciousness. It turned out that when he borrowed the drumstick, the merchants deliberately placed a Forget-Worries Powder in the center of the drumstick, causing amnesia in the person who used it.
When Li Xiao Yao woke up again, he found himself lying in the room of the inn, and his aunt had fully recovered. She was sitting by the bedside taking care of him. After getting up, Li Xiao Yao strolled through the streets, and the villagers praised him for his bravery in obtaining a life-saving elixir for his aunt. Li Xiao Yao had no idea what the villagers were talking about. He had no recollection of his aunt ever being sick.
In the evening, Li Xiao Yao arrived at the local temple as scheduled. Jiu Jian Xian's speech was still incoherent, but he repeatedly emphasized that he would only teach martial arts to those who were destined for it. After a few moves, Li Xiao Yao was amazed. He accepted the treasured sword and initially couldn't even stand steadily, but after a few adjustments, he was able to imitate the movements to some extent. He practiced diligently throughout the night, and Jiu Jian Xian began nodding in approval. Li Xiao Yao wholeheartedly wanted to become Jiu Jian Xian's disciple, but Jiu Jian Xian said that the time was not right and then left on a cloud.
When Li Xiao Yao returned to the inn, his aunt informed him that the room had been occupied by the wealthy merchant. Just as he was muttering to himself, he saw the merchant carrying a sack and entering his room. Li Xiao Yao intended to inquire, but instead, the merchant initiated the conversation, asking when Li Xiao Yao would return his drumstick. Li Xiao Yao had a bewildered look on his face, and seeing that Li Xiao Yao had lost his memory, the merchant and his companions looked satisfied.
Even more curious, Li Xiao Yao secretly sneaked into his own room through a secret passage. When he opened the sack, he was surprised to find a young girl inside. Li Xiao Yao had already forgotten Zhao Ling Er's identity, but he noticed Zhao Ling Er's sincere attitude as she pleaded for Li Xiao Yao to help her save her grandmother.
While the two were talking, they were discovered by the merchant, and a fierce battle immediately broke out between the two sides. Li Xiao Yao used the moves he had just learned from Jiu Jian Xian to attack. When he was about to be overwhelmed, his aunt suddenly intervened and used the Piercing Cloud Palm to injure several people. Li Xiao Yao then realized that his aunt also possessed martial arts skills, and his aunt just learned that Li Xiao Yao had acquired a few rare sword techniques.
