Episode 3 recap: After handling the aftermath on Xianling Island, Li Xiao Yao hurried to Nanzhao.
He brought Zhao Ling Er back to Xianling Island, only to find that Grandma was on the verge of death. Zhao Ling Er wanted to use a resurrection spell to save Grandma, but she hadn't mastered the essence of the spell, and her attempts were in vain. Before she passed away, Grandma entrusted Zhao Ling Er to Li Xiao Yao, instructing him to safely bring Zhao Ling Er back to the Kingdom of Nanzhao.
After burying Grandma, Zhao Ling Er set Xianling Island ablaze. The Ghost Eagle reported the situation to Bai Yue Jiao Zhu, revealing that apart from Zhao Ling Er, everyone on Xianling Island had been plundered. Li Xiao Yao brought Zhao Ling Er back to the inn in Yuhang Town. When Zhao Ling Er woke up, she told Li Xiao Yao that she had dreamt of Grandma's instructions, urging her to stay strong and return to the Kingdom of Nanzhao as soon as possible.
Although Li Xiao Yao kindly took care of Zhao Ling Er's recovery, he didn't understand why Zhao Ling Er felt so close to him. Zhao Ling Er repeatedly hinted that they had once married, but Li Xiao Yao struggled to recall any details from their past, causing him intense headaches before eventually fainting.
Suddenly, Aunt remembered that there was a highly poisonous substance in the Kingdom of Nanzhao called the "Forget Sorrow Powder." When consumed, it intensified headaches and made it harder to recall the past. Perhaps Li Xiao Yao had unknowingly taken the Forget Sorrow Powder.

Meanwhile, Wang Xiao Hu and his grandfather were selling vegetables at the market. Li Xiao Yao explained that he had never promised to marry Ding Xiang Lan, and Ding Xiang Lan felt that Ding Xiu Lan was being unreasonable, so she stepped in to stop the argument.
On the way back to the inn, it started to rain. Zhao Ling Er appeared even more ethereal and beautiful in the rain. Although Li Xiao Yao couldn't remember marrying Zhao Ling Er, he felt privileged to be by the side of a fairy.
Li Xiao Yao decided to escort Zhao Ling Er back to Nanzhao. Aunt knew that Li Xiao Yao was about to embark on a journey in the martial arts world and couldn't keep him, so she handed over the treasured sword and the secret manuals of Bingxin Jue and Feilong Tanyun Shou left by Li Xiao Yao's parents, and bid him farewell from Yuhang.
On the other side, in the Kingdom of Nanzhao, King Nan Meng ordered his daughter, A Nu, to go to the Central Plains in search of the Five Spirit Pearls to pray for rain and alleviate the current drought in Nanzhao. He also gave her the Holy Spirit Pearl, which could sense the Five Spirit Pearls, and instructed her to find the Princess Ling Er, as only she could use the Five Spirit Pearls. Tang Yu was responsible for protecting A Nu's safety.
Li Xiao Yao and Zhao Ling Er traveled through Suzhou to switch to overland transportation. They heard someone shouting for help by the riverbank and discovered a young lady scolding a man who was eloping with her maid. Zhao Ling Er quickly untied the two of them, and Li Xiao Yao, eager to play the hero, engaged in a fight with the woman. Eventually, he tied her to a tree. After the maid and the man left, the woman cried out for help loudly, as if she had been wronged. Zhao Ling Er urged Li Xiao Yao to go back and rescue her, but instead of being grateful, the woman lashed out and stabbed Li Xiao Yao with a sword. Li Xiao Yao fainted from the wound, and the woman, realizing the consequences of her actions, fled in fear.
