Episode 6 recap: A Nu acted alone, and Zhao Ling Er transformed into a snake demon.
Several people heard about the recent snake troubles in Suzhou while enjoying themselves at a tavern. Li Xiao Yao came up with an idea and proposed to Liu Jin Yuan to capture the snake demon. Firstly, it would help the people by getting rid of the threat, and secondly, Liu Jin Yuan could prove himself to Lin Tian Nan. Most importantly, Li Xiao Yao could avoid getting married. The two agreed on the plan.
Returning home in a drunken state, Lin Yue Ru saw her father and the steward preparing for the wedding. She declared that she would never marry Li Xiao Yao. Lin Tian Nan tried to persuade her, explaining that although Li Xiao Yao may have an ordinary appearance, he was talented and could inherit the Lin family's position in the martial arts world. Lin Yue Ru desired to explore the rivers and lakes and imagined that she could join Li Xiao Yao in righteous adventures after marriage. It seemed like a beautiful thing. She intended to let Li Xiao Yao and Zhao Ling Er escape while she captured the snake demon herself, proving her abilities to her father. Liu Jin Yuan knew the hiding place of the snake demon, but Zhao Ling Er was concerned about Lin Yue Ru, being a young girl, and suggested that they act together. The four of them arrived at the Hidden Dragon Cave, and when Lin Yue Ru shouted loudly, the snake demon indeed appeared. Li Xiao Yao and Lin Yue Ru joined forces to attack, while Zhao Ling Er used her powers to subdue it. However, the snake demon was powerful, and they couldn't overcome it. Liu Jin Yuan stood alone on the side and was poisoned by the toxic gas emitted by the snake demon, causing him to faint.
Zhao Ling Er attempted to use a revival spell but discovered that it could only heal injuries and not cure poison. A Nu pretended to be surrounded by flying insects and called for Tang Yu to protect her. Seeing some insects in A Nu's room, Tang Yu shooed them away. Unexpectedly, A Nu took out a small bottle and sucked the insects into it. It turned out that these insects were the ones A Nu raised and they had a certain level of toxicity. After Tang Yu was bitten, his acupoints were sealed. A Nu left the inn alone, ready to enjoy the scenery of the Central Plains without being supervised by Tang Yu.

At night, a maid passed by Zhao Ling Er's room and discovered that she had transformed into a snake demon. The maid screamed loudly in the courtyard. Li Xiao Yao and Lin Yue Ru were the first to arrive. They opened the room and found that Zhao Ling Er's hair had turned red, and her lower body had transformed into a long snake tail. Without time to inquire about the cause, Zhao Ling Er dragged her heavy snake tail and ran out through the window.
Li Xiao Yao speculated that Zhao Ling Er must have been enchanted during the previous capture of the snake demon. Lin Yue Ru believed that since the incident happened at the Lin family's stronghold and Zhao Ling Er was her newfound good sister, they had to find Zhao Ling Er as soon as possible. So the two of them joined forces and hurried back to the Hidden Dragon Cave. Upon learning of the situation, Lin Tian Nan gave Liu Jin Yuan the map of the Hidden Dragon Cave and a suit of golden armor, hoping to be of assistance.
A Nu followed the guidance of the crystal stone and also found the vicinity of the Hidden Dragon Cave. Li Xiao Yao used all his abilities and finally gained control over the snake demon. Lin Yue Ru interrogated the snake demon about Zhao Ling Er's whereabouts. The snake demon claimed that it hadn't left the cave at all that night. Based on Lin Yue Ru's description, the snake demon suggested that what they had seen was likely a member of the divine race.
