Episode 8 recap: Zhao Ling Er and Li Xiao Yao met, and a corpse demon caused chaos.
Guided by the Holy Spirit Pearl, A Nu found the depths of the Ghost Yin Mountain and suddenly discovered a suspicious white-haired old man. It turned out to be Han Yi Xian, who had saved her before. However, A Nu was unconscious at the time and had no idea who had saved her. She only saw Han Yi Xian grabbing a handful of dry grass from the withered grass and then disappearing. A Nu hurried to the spot where Han Yi Xian vanished and felt a chilling presence behind her. Upon closer inspection, she realized it was Tang Yu.
Tang Yu advised A Nu not to act on her own. A Nu explained that she came to Ghost Yin Mountain because the Holy Spirit Pearl showed some abnormalities. When they were about to leave, Zhao Ling Er found Li Xiao Yao unconscious outside the door. She decided to awaken him using the resurrection curse. However, she hesitated because she had previously transformed into a snake demon and didn't know how to explain it to Li Xiao Yao. After much hesitation, Zhao Ling Er heard Li Xiao Yao talking in his sleep, repeatedly calling her name. Finally, she made up her mind. When Li Xiao Yao woke up, he found Zhao Ling Er, whom he had been searching for, by his side and was extremely happy. He embraced Zhao Ling Er tightly.
Relieved to see Zhao Ling Er unharmed, Li Xiao Yao asked why she suddenly disappeared. Zhao Ling Er didn't dare to explain the process of her transformation into a snake demon, so she lied and said she was bitten by a corpse demon but was saved by Han Yi Xian. Zhao Ling Er took Li Xiao Yao back to the cottage, where Han Meng Ci had rested for a while and fully recovered. Li Xiao Yao learned that Han Meng Ci was the head of Baihe Village and requested that Lin Yue Ru and Liu Jin Yuan be spared.
The brothers from Baihe Village went to the wilderness to check on the situation of Li Xiao Yao's wedding but found no one there. There was only bloodstains on the ground. They were puzzled until one of them discovered the silver needle that Han Yi Xian used to control the corpse poison. They speculated that the village head was likely affected by the corpse poison, broke free from the control of the silver needle, and devoured Li Xiao Yao.
Since the village head has already turned into a corpse, keeping Lin Yue Ru and Liu Jin Yuan is pointless. They decided to sacrifice the two of them and send them to the underworld to meet Li Xiao Yao. Lin Yue Ru felt resentful, while Liu Jin Yuan felt comforted to die together with Lin Yue Ru.
When they were preparing for the execution, there was a dispute over who should be the executioner. One henchman said it was his mother's birthday that day and it was not appropriate to shed blood. Another henchman explained that his child was celebrating their one-month birthday, so they couldn't shed blood either. Finally, it fell on the third-in-command to reluctantly raise the big knife. Just as the knife was about to fall, Han Meng Ci arrived with Li Xiao Yao and Zhao Ling Er at Baihe Village. They shouted to spare the lives, but their voices were too weak to suppress the noise at the scene. A Nu and Tang Yu followed the guidance of the Holy Spirit Pearl and arrived at the depths of Ghost Yin Mountain. They discovered a tomb and opened it, only to find a large number of corpse demons crawling out. At night, Li Xiao Yao went to the courtyard to relax and found Lin Yue Ru there. They bid farewell to each other in advance. While they were talking, Li Xiao Yao sensed the approach of demonic energy. He immediately notified Baihe Village to urgently close the gates and prevent the corpse demons from entering.
