Episode 35 recap: Liu Wan Yu discovered a terminal illness and ran away from home.
Liu Wan Yu suddenly went missing, causing extreme worry among the entire family. Yao Zhi Ming suggested reporting to the police. Liu Wan Yu was diagnosed with a terminal illness and wanted some time alone, so she wrote a letter to her family. Liu Wan Yu and Mai Lai Tian gave up their trip and returned home. When they entered, they were surprised to see Mai Cheng Zao and Mao Mao holding hands. Mai Cheng Zao admitted that he was in a relationship with Mao Mao. Contrary to her usual behavior, Liu Wan Yu did not object. She even encouraged Mai Cheng Zao to help Mao Mao fight for custody of Ding Ding and bring him back.
Yao Zhi Ming drove to send Mai Cheng Zao and Mao Mao off. Liu Wan Yu locked herself in her room, and Mai Cheng Huan thought she was angry. Yao Zhi Ming found out through the police that Liu Wan Yu had purchased a ticket to her hometown, Jixi, in Anhui. Mai Cheng Huan immediately called Liu Wan Rong, who had taken Qiuqiu to Wuyuan for a visit. Fang Zhihong called Fang Jie, who was staying at home, but Liu Wan Yu didn't go there. Mai Cheng Zao speculated that she went to the old house in Shang Village. Mai Cheng Huan and Yao Zhi Ming rushed to Shang Village overnight.
As expected by Mai Cheng Zao, Liu Wan Yu got off the train and took a taxi to Shang Village. Liu Wan Yu didn't return to the old house in Shang Village until very late. Mai Cheng Zao and Mai Lai Tian went to the hospital to check Liu Wan Yu's test results. The doctor suspected that the shadow they found was a tumor and advised Liu Wan Yu to come back for further examination as soon as possible.
