Episode 36 recap: Mai Cheng Huan stayed in the old house to accompany Liu Wan Yu.
The whole family mobilized and finally found Liu Wan Yu in their rural hometown. Mai Lai Tian urged Liu Wan Yu to go back to seek treatment, threatening to divorce her if she didn't. Liu Wan Yu didn't want to return to Shanghai, so Mai Cheng Huan persuaded Mai Lai Tian to give Liu Wan Yu some time.
Mai Cheng Huan and Yao Zhi Ming took time off to accompany Liu Wan Yu in the countryside, and Liu Wan Yu had been living happily every day. Mai Cheng Huan returned to the rundown old house and urged Liu Wan Yu to go back to Shanghai for further examination. However, Liu Wan Yu firmly refused to leave, and Mai Cheng Huan, out of frustration, decided to stay in the old house to accompany her.
Yao Zhi Ming went to a nearby supermarket to buy things and took the opportunity to call Mai Lai Tian. He felt that Liu Wan Yu was not in good condition and asked Mai Lai Tian to come to the old house as soon as possible. Early in the morning, Mai Cheng Huan came to call Liu Wan Yu for a walk. Mai Cheng Zao, Yao Zhi Ming, Mao Mao, and Mai Lai Tian cleaned the old house spotlessly. Liu Wan Yu went to the kitchen to cook while Mai Cheng Zao hurried back to Shanghai to handle a lawsuit. He bid farewell to Liu Wan Yu, who started reminiscing about their childhood. It was revealed that Mai Cheng Huan had been sickly since childhood, and it was because of this that Liu Wan Yu decided to have Mai Cheng Zao. Mai Cheng Zao brought happiness to the family after his birth, and Mai Cheng Huan's health gradually improved. Due to their busy work schedules, they had no choice but to send Mai Cheng Zao to their hometown, which caused him a lot of grievances. Liu Wan Yu, accompanied by Mai Cheng Huan, Yao Zhi Ming, and Mai Lai Tian, went to the fields to relax. Coincidentally, they encountered Aunt Wang, Liu Wan Yu's childhood playmate. Aunt Wang's ducks had escaped, so Yao Zhi Ming and Mai Cheng Huan helped to catch them. Liu Wan Yu found it amusing and pulled Mai Cheng Huan and Yao Zhi Ming to take a group photo together as a keepsake.
Yao Zhi Ming invited Liu Wan Yu, Mai Cheng Huan, and Mai Lai Tian to have a meal at a fancy restaurant, specifically ordering the stinky mandarin fish that Liu Wan Yu liked. Mai Lai Tian helped Liu Wan Yu with her food, but she immediately noticed that the fish was not marinated properly, reminding her of the Fermented Stinky Mandarin Fish she loved to eat as a child.
Mai Cheng Huan and Yao Zhi Ming immediately went to find this old restaurant, going through great difficulties before finally locating it, but unfortunately, the restaurant no longer served stinky mandarin fish.
